Studying Back Then

11.06.2020 My aesthetic is old paperbacks, inky fingers, thrift-shop art in gilt frames, dried flowers, and rumpled sheets.

Not to toot my own horn, but I think I’m a great candidate. I mostly don’t have a job right now (or, at least, this is what I’m telling myself) because my path was outstandingly unfocused and I didn’t really figure out what direction I wanted to take until truly the last few months of school. I haven’t really applied anywhere yet. So I’ve always had this quiet hope that once I actually start applying, someone will recognize my worth and I’ll get something fairly quickly. And I’m still kind of holding on to that hope. It’s just...now fewer firms may be looking to hire and the competition may be steeper. So...we’ll see. 

Can I also add that this is a potential crisis caused by a health issue, not an economic collapse. In most countries, the rebound predictions are significantly better than the previous big recession (2008/9) so long term is shouldn’t wipe out everyone’s career plans 🍀
