How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.

As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.

The author says Wallner broke her NDA by sharing her story with the media, including with New York Magazine.

He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.

He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.

Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.

A thing that is maybe ultimately harmless but also kind of… not exactly a pet peeve but it just makes me feel iffy, is assuming if someone has somewhat unusual interest(s) that in and of itself is equivalent to an autism/ADHD diagnosis, so therefore someone who doesn't fall under that can't possibly be interested in anything outside of the normal.

like yes that is one of many possible symptoms, I myself am diagnosed with ADHD, but I dunno, I don't think I'd be a completely different person with zero likes/interests if I didn't have it. Neurotypical people have weird fascinations too. Just talk to a "normie" long enough. People don't need to be born a certain way and have an innate neurodevelopmental condition to be curious about the world around them. One of the most rewarding parts of education and science communication is finding ways to reawaken curiosity in a wide range of different people, something everyone had as kids but some of us have been conditioned to ignore.

Like, I see a lot of folks, both NT and not, putting a lot of time and effort into the things that fascinate them. Which is great and wonderful!

But also, some of us have spent the last 16 months thinking about Genshin Impact and nothing else, except for the times we have guilted or blackmailed ourselves into not doing that, almost all of which has had to be spent on the day job.

I'm pretty sure this is not how most 'normies' experience their hobbies and interests. And I sure as hell don't think this makes their investment in their hobbies inferior to mine.
