Let's do it! Summer 2026 Writealong
I dug through the comments and messages I got and looked at the calendar, and I've got a tentative schedule to share. It's possible there could be some tweaks, but I wanted to throw this out there so y'all don't think I've forgotten. I have NOT forgotten!
I'll follow up soon with more details and an official rules post (which will be basically the same as last year, and before that, and before that... why mess with a pretty good thing?)
In the mean time, I'm open to all suggestions and requests for prompts. In the past, that's included themes, quotes, memes, screenshots, photos, and artwork. If you've got ideas, want to volunteer to create something as a prompt, or any thoughts on what you'd like to see, drop me a DM or add a comment. Or reblog with your thoughts. Whever works for you works for me.
Every once in a while, I wish the friendship meter from the Sims was real so that way when people tell me "I used Chat-GPT" they can visually see just how much respect I just lost for them in that moment.

Hi hello! I have not become a missing person; I'm just in the middle of my ranger season and haven't had reliable access to WiFi. Daily activities have included! Night hiking, hunting for aquatic macroinvertebrates, quilting, mimicking gray-cheeked salamanders, mimicking fireflies, inadvertently attracting owls, avoiding elk, wrangling chickens, dressing in 19th century garb and baking cornbread on the hearth of a 126-year old house, other duties as assigned. A standard season!

Okay so I actually locked in and did a lineup of *some* of the main characters approximately in between Brisingr and Inheritance!! These took me ages and I got the idea for the frames about 30 minutes ago so sorry if some sizing is messed up (for example I think Nasuada is not as proportionate to the frame compared to the others but we will all pretend you didn't see it!)
Anyways in order of appearance we have: Eragon, Arya (the only one i didn't draw from scratch bc i liked the original drawing too much lol), Murtagh (who gets his own goth villain frame), Nasuada, Roran, Orik and Oromis! enjoyyyyy

I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.

do you ever get so excited about writing that every mundane or ordinary thing becomes unexpected inspiration?
i mean a random phrase or a random thought will catch your attention and suddenly those simple words have become an entire paragraph, an entire page of heartfelt emotion.
that tree on the side of the road has become a ten page story of its own. you simply must incorporate the sunset you just witnessed into a tender moment between two characters. the song you just listened to? on repeat until you can capture the exact vibes within a few sentences.

I love it when fan fiction writers are like: “ah shit, this was meant to be one part but I started writing it and now it has to be three”. Like the fanfic is happening to them and not being created by them.
