I hope he wins the lawsuit, a police officer was finally doing the right thing and they penalize him for not being a racist monster!
his name is stephen mader and not only did he refuse to shoot, he actively wanted to help the man (ronaldĀ ārjā williams) because he could tell that he was only acting out because of mental illness. rj williams was suicidal and holding an unloaded gun and, while mader didnāt shoot him, a fellow officer (ryan kuzma) did and murdered him on the spot. here is the sourceĀ and hereās to hoping rj williams gets justice
āSaying the words āJust shoot meā sent up the red flag that he was just trying to harm himself and no one else ⦠Thatās what made me make my decision. He needed helpā I hate this fucking world. The guy was actually trying to do his job by actually desculating the situation the right way (desculating these days apparently just means shoot them) and was fired for āfailing to eliminate a threat.ā
HE WON THE LAWSUIT AND GOT $175,000
I read this whole story. It is wild !! The conversations between him and his ex coworkers about what went down that day š§š¶
Listen to it all here:
A shocking story of police and lethal force. Just not the one you might expect.
when I say there are no good cops, this is part of the reason why.
āgood copsā lose their jobs for doing the right thing.
āgood copsā die mysteriously after whistleblowing.
āgood copsā are forced to choose between their livelihood and becoming just like the rest.
Honestly!!! This is just psychological trauma in the making
THANK YOU
Iāve asked parents about this and they always say they are teaching the child responsibility and ārespect for other peopleās things.ā If I point out that the child accidentally broke their own toy they always sayĀ āI bought them that toyā orĀ āmy sister gave that to them.ā
The problem is that parents view all possessions as not really belonging to the child. A part of them always seems to think that the adult who provided the money is the real owner
If a parent breaks a dish they see it as breaking something that already belonged to them, but if a child breaks it they see it as the child breaking something that belonged to the parents
People raising children need to realize that household possessions belong to the entire household. If everyone has to use that plate then it belongs to everyone and anyone can have a forgivable accident with it. Itās okay to deem certain possessions as just yours and ask everyone in the house to respect that, but extend the same respect to your childās belongings
Big mood. I know most of these are talking about little little kids, but hereās a tale from middle school. I had forgotten to charge my phone one night, and this was back when cell phones used to beep loudly when they were low on battery. I kept hearing the noise throughout the afternoon and not recognizing what it was because Iād never heard it before. When I finally did realize what it was, I was in science class and my fellow classmates were making presentations. I reached into my bag to try to turn off the phone, and then the low-battery sound went off, loud enough for the teacher to hear it. She confiscated my phone in front of everyone, and I didnāt get it back until after the weekend because it was a Friday. I was really embarrassed, especially to tell my parents.
When I got my phone back that Monday, my teacher said it was important for me to learn this lesson now since in college they wouldnāt tolerate phones going off. Fast forward to when I was in college, any time someoneās phone went off, either the professor would tell them to turn it off, or they would say, āOh, my bad,ā and turn it off themselves, and everyone would move on. I even had a professor who danced around while someoneās phone went off, and it was a welcome moment of levity during the lecture.
I say all this to say, one of the worst aspects of being a child/teen was adults assuming my intentions were malicious.
God Iāve been reading these posts for a while and each time I am struck with the realization that certainly not all parents were supposed to be a parent
āI say all this to say, one of the worst aspects of being a child/teen was adults assuming my intentions were malicious.ā YES this
The problem is, even if families are forgiving the culture around children still effects the child. I use myself as proof of that.
A few times between the ages of 4 and 18 I broke things. I broke my grandmaās favorite Christmas ornament. Her first question was: āAre you hurt?ā and when I apologized profusely she said āIām just glad you werenāt hurt.ā
I broke a few plates. I broke a couple glasses. Every time my dadās first response was āDid you get cut?ā the second step was cleaning up the broken bits, and the third was a discussion of what led to me breaking it and how I could avoid doing that in the future.
Same with spills. Same with stains. My biggest āpunishmentā from my immediate family was being taught how to clean up the mess I made and being shown in detail how to avoid the same mistake in the future if it was avoidable. There were consequences for my actions, but they were the direct result of those actions and nothing much beyond that.
My family tried so hard to teach me how to deal with accidents in a healthy way. They were patient. They treated every slip-up as a learning opportunity. They showed me a lot of love. The other adults still got to me. Teachers still punished and publicly shamed me and other students for our mess-ups. Extended family members outside of my small supportive circle still yelled at me. My friendsā parents still got mad.
To the point where whenever I messed up my first instinct was that my dad or grandparents were going to punish me, or yell at me, or hit me, even though they never did. They just didnāt. They always responded with patience and an attitude of āIām glad youāre safe and I want to help you learn from this.ā And I was still afraid of messing up. Mortified. Expecting the worst every time.
Itās like⦠we need to change the culture around this, man. Completely.
It is perfect!
#LGBTQ
I donāt think itās proper. You canāt spread equality with a closed fist.
You sound mad fucking stupid man shut the hell up
I think this creates a separation in the LGTB community. Why not just have one flag for everyone?
There are literal hundreds of LGBT flag variations to upfift said Race/Religion/CountryĀ
Even ones for the specific areas in the LGBT communityĀ
How the fuck is this any different? Why is it everytime black people come up with something for themselves y'all have to come out with this show your entire asses with thisĀ ā"segregationā shit.Ā
Suck on my entire dick
Also, if youāre in this thread and have never made nor reblogged a post about the way POC, especially Black people are treated in the LGBTQ community then motherfuck you. We wouldnāt feel the need to remind you that weāre here, if you didnāt treat us like we werenāt.

VISIBILITY IS IMPORTANT. And thatās a great design.
From a graphic design standpoint: Thatās actually a really solid flag, symbolism, balance, and color wise. A+ work from a graphic design point of origin. POC who are LGBTQIA are going to be under a lot of fire, since theyāre getting the double barreled whammy of hate in the current political climate. Be safe, folks.
Yo, ALSO from a graphic design standpoint: I wouldnt give a single shit if it looked HORRIBLE. Hereās why.
Ive seen like, 3 flags minimum for asexuals. There are also at least 4 variations on the trans flag for specific identities. There are like fucking NINETEEN āofficialā lesbian flag designs (NOT counting the hundreds produced online in the past year because it literally became a meme how many flags they had.) Do you think anyone gave these people flack about their design skills? No.
Ive seen two (2.) SEMI- recognized flag designs for all LGBT POC before this. Not even just for one identity. Just, purposeful uplifting for all POC. And white gays got their panties in a twist about both of them. And bitched and complained about āexclusivityā every. single. time.
This flag could look like literal garbage and Iād still support it. Its a good and NECESSARY idea. Itās not exlcuding anyone. Itās meant to be more INCLUSIVE than the members of the community that wave the rainbow and act like its a gay-whites-only symbol. We all should accept a flag like this even if it wasnāt a solid design or whatever.
The closed fist is the black lives matter symbol. It is literally a pride flag symbolising LGBTQIA+ black lives matter. If you donāt get that, itās clearly not your place to comment on whether it looks good or not or if itās inclusive enough.

ok so thereās a game me and my friends play called ādonāt get me startedā and basically someone gives another person a random topic and they have to go on an angry rant about it and itās the best thing thatās ever happened to us at parties and car rides so I highly recommend playing sometimes with your friends
I love this idea. We used to do things like this in Improv.
Related game: āTHINK ABOUT IT.ā Youāre given a random topic, and your job is to build it into an epic conspiracy theory, the crazier the better. You end your rant with a serious face and the command that your listeners āThink about it.āĀ
Another related game: Illuninati. Similar to Think About It except you are given 2 completely different topics and you have to connect them to each other in a wild conspiracy rant
Rb to safe an awkward hang out
me and my friends playĀ āWorldās Greatest Expertā where one of the other players saysĀ āHey, I heard youāre the worldās greatest expert on ____ā and you have to give an in depth (and probably completely false) lecture about the thing youāre the greatest expert on. Other players are allowed to ask you questions.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Listen, this is not a difficult concept. Maybe itās a NEW concept for some people, since womanhood has been so historically tied to the idea of motherhood, but that doesnāt make it less true. Inclusive language isnāt just some feel good performative virtue signaling, itās literally just more accurate.Ā
Reblogged because I fixed a typo in the image.
uhh.. this should not be a Venn diagram. people who can become pregnant on the right should not be under the category of women who can become pregnant which is what the middle section would indicate
Thatās not how Venn Diagrams work.
The ENTIRE LEFT circle is āwomen.ā The ENTIRE RIGHT circle is āpeople who can become pregnant.ā ONLY The OVERLAP between the circles is āWOMEN who can become pregnant.ā
The part of the āwomenā circle that is NOT overlapped by ācan become pregnantā represents women who CANāT be pregnant. The part of the ācan become pregnantā circle that is NOT overlapped by āwomenā is people who can become pregnant but arenāt women.
Ok, it looks like there are several people in the notes who areā¦having a hard time processing the Venn Diagram. Letās do a quick refresher on how Venn Diagrams work.
Here is an example:
Here is the original Venn Diagram, but with additional color coding:
Hopefully that clears up any confusion about what the image is trying to say.
I canāt believe you had to explain Venn diagrams, people literally learn that in 3rd grade.
Overall very nice diagram explaining the subject
Thank you. I think some of the confusion was stemming from where I placed the labels? (Like,Ā āWomenā is INSIDE the circle, but on the left hand side, rather than like..placed ABOVE that entire circle?) I dunno. Sometimes people just struggle to interpret visual representations. Hopefully the color coding makes it more clear.Ā
Itās fine, I just wanted to clear up the confusion since some folks were misinterpreting the chart in EXACTLY the wrong way. lolol.Ā
Thing i learned some time ago!Ā hope you all find it helpful ( perspective grids can be your friend!)

In an effort to share a little black and queer history during this turbulent Pride month, hereās a comic about one of my favorite musicians, Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
https://www.everythingisgoingtobeokcomic.com/sister-rosetta-tharpe/
I almost included this tidbit, but then I got lazy bc I didnāt want to draw a bus, but now I kinda wish I had.
EXACTLY THIS!!!
here is the text from these images:
Why Is A Curfew Damaging:
1. A vast majority of white people work 9-5 while many immigrants and POC work night shifts, making them easy targets to be out past curfew.
2. The Mayors broadcast was sent out only in English, with no subtitles, in no other languages. Makes it very hard for non English speakers to receive this information.
3. You can be arrested and fined up to $10,000 for violating curfew. Putting MANY in physical and financial danger that cannot access this information.
