i hate how common this "joke" is and how it keeps demeaning and insulting Greg simply because he's not conventionally attractive. that's what most of this boils down to, because if he was a tall muscular drummer, people would be thirsting over him.

but no, because he's short and fat and also balding in present time (because he's a fucking middle aged man), people think that this joke is hilarious.

it also completely ignores the fact that Greg was genuinely a good guy. he cared about Rose. he respected her and adored her. he may not have had a successful career and he may not be conventionally attractive, but he made Rose happy, and that's what matters the most.

it's also a huge disservice to Pearl to treat her like some incel who feels entitled to Rose.

Pearl and Rose were never canonically a couple. at best, they had some romantic tension, but it's never stated outright that they were dating, only that Pearl was in love with Rose.

and a huge part of Pearl's arc is learning to accept that Rose didn't see her that way and to move on. saying that Pearl deserved to be with Rose or that Rose should have picked her over Greg, simply because "Pearl risked her life for Rose!" just undermines her whole character.

i love how Nikki calls out the fact that Bear just threw his cat's corpse in a trashbag instead of giving her a proper burial. i feel like wish!Nikki in this version was a lot less childish, at least in the beginning.

i like to think that Bear did, at least, like his cat. but he was a shitty pet owner who irresponsibly left out pill bottles, and it's absurd that he acts like Nikki is weird for giving Sandy a proper memorial, when he just threw the body in a trashbag and kept it around the house. like dude couldn't even be bothered to get rid of it, not even after the memorial.

yeah, let's just ignore the fact that the song was made by a black man and ignore all the racist shit going on with Gooseworx and the crew, and twist this entire narrative to make it seem like people who criticize this choice are transphobic.

and sure, Jax is not white. but her VA is and so is Gooseworx. this entire story was written by a white woman. so i don't think you can use the excuse of "actually Jax is asian!" especially when that fact was only revealed at the end of the series. not to mention, people of color can be racist too.
