Why do I rec this fic? Not sure how much that translates if you read it in translation but reading it in german made me very happy, everything felt more intense and more personal, there were tons of details I just wanted to point out and say: "Hey! I know this! Just like with us!" More relatable/important to other people is probably how fanfiction allows room for this kind of everyday life things and how they can used to show how characters and relationships work. Also cute the fanmixes/playlists that go along with the fics, I love the collage likeness of that/the way to engage with the characters/relationships with different media (I also found new to me music I really liked on it).

Warum ich diese Fanfiktion empfehle? Eine Sache, die ich bemerkt habe beim lesen ist wie viel intensiver/persönlicher sich alles angefühlt hat weil ich diese Fanfiktion auf deutsch / meiner Muttersprache lesen konnte, es gibt hier so viele kleine Details auf die ich zeigen will nur um zu sagen: "Hey! Das kenn ich! Genau wie bei uns!". Eine coole Sache an Fanfiktion ist ja das sie Raum für diese Alltäglichkeiten hat und sie nutzen kann um zu zeigen wie Charaktere ticken und ihre Beziehungen sind. Eine süße Sache außerdem die Fanmix/Liederlisten die es zu den Fiks dazu gibt, ich liebe ja dieses collagenhafte/Beschäftigen mit der Materie mithilfe verschiedenen Medien und habe auf ihnen ein paar neu für mich Interpreten & Lieder gefunden die ich sehr mochte.

Why do I rec this? At this point in the fic the two of them have circa ten years of shared history and you can feel it, and I love that. I also love Kongs family situation and would love to read more of it, but even with the few words the fic really paints a picture. I personally always a fan of media with a high rate of references (if done well of course) but I know that opinions on this differ (this fic made me finally watch La Haine which has been on my list for like ever and it was my favorite new to me watch of 2025; I also watched Chunking Express and Stalker and I can warmly recommend Stalker, good movie).

Warum ich diese Fanfiktion empfehle? An diesem Punk in der Welt der Fik haben die beiden was, circa zehn Jahre gemeinsame Geschichte hinter sich und man spürt es, und das liebe ich. Lieben tue ich auch Kongs Familiensituation und würde so gerne mehr davon lesen, aber auch mit wenigen Worten hat man gleich ein Bild. Bin auch immer ein Fan von Medien mit hoher Referenzsdichte auch wenn ich weiß das es da auch ganz andere Meinungen gibt (diese Fik hat mich das endlich dazu bewegt La Haine zu gucken was ewig auf meiner Liste stand und es war mein liebster neu für mich Film von 2025 (die deutsche Synchro ist wirklich gut!), auch gesehen hab ich dann aber etwas später Chunking Express und Stalker, und kann Stalker auch nur wärmstens and Herz legen.).
i cant speak for other polyam people but being in a triad/throuple relationship in real life is just inherently funny. show up to the family function with two guys and everyone else has one guy. just seems like a power move every time even though we're just living our lives. hilarious. i recommend this for comedic value alone

The AO3 tags say (tongue in cheek I assume) that this fic has little to do with the source material - but for me it has a lot to do with real life instead - family meet ups are a special circle of hell (their grandma specifically remainds me so much of my grandmother that it almost hurts), but also the complicated tangle of eating, bodies, sexuality and gender and the general small town blues.

Warum ich diese Fanfiktion empfehle? Die AO3 Kenzeichnung sagt (mit einem Augenzwinkern, würde ich interpretieren) das die Fik wenig mit dem Ausgangsmatrial zu tun hat - aber dafür für mich halt sehr viel mit dem realen Leben, Familientreffen sind ein ganz besonderer Kreis der Hölle (besonders ihre Oma erinnert mich so sehr an meine Großmutter das es fast wehtut), aber eben auch die ganze komplizierte Verknotung von Essen, Körper, Sexualität und Geschlechtsidentität und natürlich ganz allgemeinen den Dorf-Blues/das Kleinstadtgefühl.

Why do I rec this fic? I love first person narrators (or any narrator with a strong personality of course). The way the author halbstarke_r captures Marlons though progress about his body and bodies in general is really emotional intense for me and endlessly faszinating. As I said before I generally love sex in media that all characters want to have but still ends up not exactly one of their best ideas for various reasons (no one here wants to talk about their feelings and I am there for it.) Also Leon does not quite appear int his fic but I love the glimps we get of Marlons relationship with him - as said before I love messy sibling relationships (the authors notes call him "my favorite problematic younger siblings" and I second that nomenclature so much).

Warum ich die Fanfiktion empfehle? Ich liebe starke Ich-Erzähler (oder jede Form von Erzählstimmen mit starker Persönlichkeit), und finde das sehr passend für DWK Fanfiktion. Die Art und Weise wie halbstarke_r Marlons Gedankenwelt zu seinem Körper und Köperlichkeit im generellen einfängt, find ich unglaublich intensiv und faszinierend. Generell mag ich wie gesagt Sex in Medien den alle Charaktere wollen aber der vieleicht auf die Art und Weise wie er gehabt wird nicht die beste Idee ist (keiner hier will über seine Gefühle reden, und das ist genau mein Ding). Außerdem auch wenn Leon nicht in Person auftaucht, liebe ich die Stücken die man von Marlons Beziehung zu ihm hier sieht (die Authorennotizen nennen ihn "mein liebstes problematischen jüngeres geschwisterkind" und der Bezeichung schließe ich mich vollen Herzens an).
