ok so i saw this poll from 2023 with results that i suspect will be pretty different now post-tbob. i saw the op say the same thing but that they didnt want to deal with the potential discourse of making it, sooo i thought i'd make it cause i wanna see the difference :P i'll use the same tags they did. AND EVERYONE BEHAVE
My answer kinda lies between “love it” and “nuanced” (picked the former, should’ve picked the latter but it’s early in the morning rn). Billford is absolutely a toxic ship, but what I like about it (other than villain x hero, and a little bit of “ooo they were exes”) is there’s a lot of layers to explore and how their dynamic is lodged into, as Alex described, where “they need each other” to complete this vision they have of their own identities. Especially with the additional information that they’re like certain characters from The Great Gatsby, that adds a lot more nuance to explore.
At the end of the day, I absolutely don’t think they should end up together again in canon, that bridge is obliterated and gone. When I draw stupid-ass doodles of them, more so it’s for an AU or that I’m playing into how Bill is a goofy evil Disney villain, but overall regarding canon, yeah he’s toxic to Ford.
