If it makes you uncomfortable then it’s because you know you have in some way been part of the problem. Take that feeling and educate yourself about the reason why you feel uncomfortable with whats being discussed and what you’re being confronted with. You can’t just chose to disengage because “it doesn’t affect you.”

Last year, I took a class called History of the African-American Spirit. One of the things I learned about is black people’s hairstyles (especially cornrows) during slavery. They were more than just hairstyles and creative ways to store food. They were also used to create maps. Black slaves would use these maps to escape plantations and their captors.

I’d read about certain crops being potentially brought over from Africa to the Americans via seeds in captured slaves’ hair, but I hadn’t known how simple and subtle the hairstyle could be.

This is the first recording of a Haka I’ve seen that manages to capture even a fraction of the true energy of it. And it’s because there’s so many of them that those boys would have been shaking the ground.

Seeing these boys in their modern uniforms and jackets and backpacks that say NIKE, participating in this ancient ritual, really just drives home what people mean when they say “I am not a costume.” The clothes here are not important. The energy and participation are important.

what makes me sad about the bad batch is that the team is also taking another jump in voice acting/voice line style. all of the little bits of conversations flow so much more naturally. they make a lot of nonverbal noises that would be normal for anyone to make. there's a bit less of an effort to have everyone speaking as formally with little variation in tone. the mess hall scene's lines from the regular clones is one of my favorites cause we never see the clones have petty reactions like that, really. wrecker say "ow" a LOT and it's like. i want to hear more of that. why did we never get overlapping speech and interruptions for the first seven seasons of this show.

Samantha Ward, who is one of the makeup artists on the Mandalorian, has said “the creatives did not want to see typical burn scars and kept focusing on an 'acid burned bleached' quality to the skin, because of the Sarlacc’s digestive acids." This was from a small promo she did with the Boba Fett fan club to celebrate the “Best Special Make-Up Effects” nomination that the show got for it.  Those are her words. “Acid burned bleached.” Literally “bleached.” So yeah, the whitewashing of the Fett family/clones even extends into live action.
