How long had it been since he had last gone to a festival? Almost… ten years perhaps? He didn’t know. Hell, Kyoya could barely remember that particular festival, mainly due to him spending most of the time making sure his younger sister didn’t get lost… Which likely would have happened if he hadn’t been keeping an eye on her.Â
Though, come to think of it… Weren’t he and his friends talking about going to a festival a few months ago? Before he ended up here, that is. Or didn’t that festival get—
…He’s so lost in his thoughts, Kyoya didn’t realize he was staring right at someone. Or were they staring back at him? Shit.
“S-Sorry, I was just… Thinking about how long it’s been since I’ve been to a festival,” Kyoya quickly explains. Glancing away from the other for a moment, he looks over at the food stalls nearby… Or at least the ones he could see.
“Do… festivals normally have this many food stalls? I ain’t complaining or anything but… wow, that’s a lot.”
They wouldn’t be wanting for food during this time. Savory smells tempted his taste buds and his nostrils. He’d eaten something earlier when his mouth started to water. It’d helped a little. Probably find a proper meal later. Kanata thought the kingdom here was fairly generous through offering the monthly stipend (which he’d learned the definition of here). He had to think of it as getting paid to live here every month.Â
He looked to the side to see someone eyeing him. Someone looked about as out of place as he. He waved his bandage-wrapped hand.
“I’m from a small town - a village really. We sometimes celebrated the harvest or solstice but not like this.” He gestured at their surroundings. He hoped that would explain his similar look of amazement.
“I’m not used to seeing this much food either. Or what did they call them - fireworks? Are they normal where you’re from?
