i knew you were the right person to ask! i need something to keep me out of a spot of trouble from time to time. i honestly am open to anything? i do lean towards the fighting and word exploring type stuff, if that helps? i know there are so many out there.
Of course. Not even gonna lie about my video game addiction. I'm horrible at waiting and my switch or consoles save me from being horribly annoying. I'm a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda games, and I literally have to beat the game and cover all the sidequests. That will pretty much consume your mind. I love the games like GTA, and a lot of the more open world exploration types. I will jump into online gaming but if I'm not in a location that I can play with someone, I need to just keep my brain occupied. Oh, Fallout was another huge series for me. We can keep going too.
i feel like i wouldn't even properly get used to it as i got further into the industry and would get just as excited as you do now, you know? like..this really is the life and you're living the dream. i'm actually not really involved in that kinda thing normally! i was just in the area and sort of just..acted. the police did most of the work, but i lended a hand when they needed.
I don't actually want that feeling to get old, or like that feeling of being on stage for thousands of people. That's what keeps us all doing this anyway. We miss all this time at home, but I love that stage way too much to do anything else. It just never gets old. That rescue though, that is so cool. I'm sure the family is thankful for all the help. You get some serious creds for that. Even if you want to be humble about it, a lot of people would run away or not get involved.
It always floats in the back of my mind that time my sister literally got picked up outside a show. I am there right with you being a normal person is great but it feels no matter how small or unrecognizable you are in a moment, there are those moments recognition is unavoidable and awkwardness happens. You are? What do you think you love most about the city? my definition of a lot of animals is maybe a little different than most peoples? Me personally have about 5 but my mom also has a whole heard of cows
That's so true, and really it's a compliment, even if it's super inconvenient sometimes. I never thought people would be screaming for me like that. There are plenty of thoe AWWWW moments to combat the awkward ones. That is cute though - the cows. My mom loves cows. She collects them and would totally have a whole heard. She is not really a farmer so that would be interesting, but she would take care of them. I'm a dog guy. I have two, and they are my home. Dogs make everything better. Do you have dogs or cats?
I understand. But…Just because you’re not a lead, lead, doesn’t mean I feel people wouldn’t recognize or know who you are. Y’know? That part of what you said would make the most sense. Wouldn’t it be so so strange if they didn’t know who you were and they were from Australia? I would side eye so hard. I’m sure your fans go so insane for your band don’t they? Fans are superb like that. It always amazes me sometimes. They will never ever miss a beat, I swear they don’t. Oh, you should have said that, that would have been the highlight of the cashiers day. Mhm, I do. Nothing insane or crazy, over the tip-pity top with my look. I will wear a hat and sunglasses make sure I put my hair up no make up. And I go from that point. I walk around normally haha. Some never know it was even me. I have to do that at the airports a lot. My husband hates when fans randomly just approach us or him in our own time even in the airports they can be so rude and obnoxious and invade personal space so we have much reason for doing it.
I don't know. The music industry itself has changed a lot so people are not listening to the radio as much anymore so when a band rises in popularity, it's within a group now. So our fanbase is there, and new music has a reach within that group but it's harder to reach outside that. The fans that have been around us for the ride though - amazing. The way they can recite lyrics literally can bring me to tears. They are singing back something that means the world to me - it's the highest honor. Australia is crazy over their kids that go out in the world so to speak. We kind of feel like we are in a bubble down here, so when we have a band or actors that are global, we are all over the local news and shows down here. At least in our area, we are very well known but we are also treated like it's normal for us to be out and about down there. For those out repping Australia though, it's like being a very weird national hero. I should try disguising myself sometimes, but it might just be like a hat. I think a cowboy hat might do it though.

I disagree, I have heard you sing. Honestly, I think you could be lead on a song or two. I completely understand. I'm busy as hell. I'm jumping from set to set right now. I'm shooting sidelines 3 and baywatch at the same time all summer long.
Thanks, mate. That means a lot. I don't think you can ever convince me of all that, but I've been working on my range and it's getting there. At least you have a lot of work going on. I have to check out Sidelines. I don't know how I got so behind on what's good out there. Games take a lot of time. I get invested in one and then get that tunnel vision. We still have a few more months on the road so it's a good time to catch up. Where is Baywatch being filmed?
i’d imagine so but that might be kinda a good thing they’ll still play your songs? i bet, it must feel awkward to hear your own music play. do you ever cringe at your own work your own music and wonder why you made the songs that you do? need a little humor to go around sometimes. it’s been steady nothing quite chaotic.
It is. We've got new stuff out there, but people love the early albums too, and some just resonate. I cringe a lot at some of it, not so much the music side although "Michael wants another slice" can go. It's the interviews, photos, and all the rest that make me cringe. We sounded like little kids - we were, but still. Videos too - I really need a few early ones to get lost in an internet void. I feel like I need to catch up with who is who in wrestling these days.
singing your own band's song in the middle of a store? i kind of dig that, since it's just conceited enough to be cool and flexing your rockstar status. although "jet black heart" was never a favorite of mine, i bet you put on a great performance at that store in whatever-ville, texas.
That's fair. I mean, I don't think that I would go the conceited route. If you think it's that, you really don't know me or haven't given us much of an ear since the early days. However, I'm now curious, which song is your favorite?
oh wait, they're actual bats? now suddenly i'm glad i missed out on it. i'll just stick to watching videos of people going on tiktok. oh wow, seems like we're doing opposite routes since i'm on the east coast now. justing finishing up in florida before making my way up.
They are actual bats. I love bats, so I have to go watch, but it's so cool. All of a sudden there are hundreds of them and then thousands, but they look like little birds. Next time you should check it out. We are still on the road out here too. You know everyone eventually crosses paths again.
between luke and now this, i'm more than convinced so you'll see me there. can't have you thinking i forgot ever. for that alone, i'll make sure to have the best fan tee and sign going just to prove how much you lads mean to me. here and there, yeah. we stay in contact but we're all doing releases and shows these days so timing isn't really a friend for us right now.
I'm counting on it. I mean, you guys were pretty much how we even got to where we are. Man, I was thinking about those days too. I miss them. Everyone thought I was the bad guy of the group. See, that's why I would hate the whole solo game. I'd be lonely, and my friends would be gone. That just doesn't work. Hey, also, we need to play golf. I think you'll beat my ass, but I'm a lot better than I was.

if i were a musician and my music just randomly came on in whatever store i was in, i'd get so weirded out and i don't think i could even actually stay very long. though you've been doing it so long i'm sure you're probably used it by now, eh? my day's been pretty eventful to say the least. i ended up helping the police rescue a family that'd gotten stuck in a dam by the river in my local town.
It's really a thing that is crazy at first. We started literally as teens, so when we first heard one of our songs randomly in a store, at least one or more of us screamed. It's a big thing. People know us, play our music, and it's out there. That is HUGE! Being a kid too when it starts is crazy. I love it now still even if we hear ourselves a lot more. It's almost like a check in or just that acknowledgement that is pretty awesome. Holy shit though, mate, that is really pretty huge by itself. How did you get involved with rescues?
alright, i need a new game to get hopelessly addicted to between shows. i'm trusting your judgement here because you seem like someone who's probably got about six recommendations ready to go. @sqmichael5sos
OOOH I probably have more than a few. Now before I go jumping off the deep end into that pool, what are you into? Do you like shooting games, fighting, racing, world exploring or building - there are literally so many options.
Fair, I can't decide if its a good or bad thing she didnt recognize you? Which one would you say? Oh Im not from Texas I just moved out here with my mom within the last half decade, have my own ranch. It's in the Fort Worth areas familar with it?
Fan encounters are interesting. I just like being a normal person sometimes so I'm good either way. It was just awkward. I always thought it would be cool to have a ranch with animals, even though it isn't like me at all. I am more of a city, inside guy. Do you have a lot of animals?

first off, hope you're having the best time in texas. i wish i was back playing there but if i can't, then i'm glad someone else is and hoping is enjoying. and second, that's so random but maybe it's a sign. should we all act surprised if that's put back into a setlist in the future? my morning was good. not as eventful as yours but i'm taking downtime as the best time these days so no complaining at all.
Aren't you from Texas too? I wish it wasn't so hot every time we set foot in the state. Believe me, as much as people have talked about taking it out, JBH is a staple song. It's still in so we'll keep playing it. It's my baby so I can't say no either. I don't think the cashier realized that, but I look a lot different now than when it came out. Downtime sounds like magic. What do you have going on these days?
I have gotten used to this happening to me. It’s funny when I look back and I have had some of the most memorable interactions like this. Isn’t it amazing when people recognize you when you’re out and about and on your own time? Did the cashier actually figure it out and know who you are? See, yes, that’s when a good disguise comes in handy every now and again.
I'm not a lead so I really don't expect all that, more like uhhhh, aren't you in a band. Australia doesn't count because most people know us there. She looked a little past our usual fanbase though. I should have just said that was me just to see if she believed me. We have weirdly never done disguises. It just felt weird. Do you have one?
