(source) its so funny how actual Greek and Homeric scholars are talking about this movie vs the fact that people on tumblr are acting like Nolan personally dug up Homer's actual bones and pissed on them

#I thought the movie was excellent #the way it feels like Tumblr decided to hate this movie without even seeing it for what felt like minimal reasons #just really really bothered me #this is Nolan’s odyssey not your specific vision for what it “should be #it makes me sad that when I see people saying they liked it #they have to preface with some sort of disclaimer #for people complaining about nobody not being there #with the tone Nolan uses it would have felt super super out of place #it would have felt silly honestly #and I love that part of the odyssey #the odyssey is a canvas #not a script

#seriously #I was depressed for a good decade starting at 16 #and through that time there were a lot of ups and downs but looking back I was always some level of depressed #then something started to happen in the last couple years (I’m 27)#It’s like my brain and my life gently settled #it’s like all the learning of the world #of life and of myself coalesced into a stability #I’m so much better now #things are so so so much better now #don’t give up hope! Life is so unbelievably better in a way I never thought possible
