people don't often talk about the overarching sadness within the 17776 universe about the loss of children. it's not like it makes a huge deal out of it, but that's because they're distracting themselves from everything they've lost. there is no reason to have playgrounds, or schools, or toys. yeah, sure, adults can do all that, but...it isn't the same.

parents will never be able to congratulate their young children on milestones. people who grew up dreaming of having children will never, ever be able to. a significant portion of humanity's culture was lost with the loss of children. and if they focus on it at all it'll drive them crazy.
