Added these lil circles around the companions' portraits because I was on the friend path for everyone except Isabela who also didn't return for act 3 because even my rivalry wasn't enough 😭
Of course my Hawke falls for the two men that glow blue and could very easily kill him if they wanted to, but ultimately Fenris won (and Anders was NOT happy about it oof-)
Hawke was more upset at Anders for tricking him into making a bomb and guilt-tripping him into distracting Elthina so Anders can plant the bomb. Hawke knew change for the mages had to happen, but he didn't know how, he's not a natural leader, he kinda just stumbled into becoming the city's Champion. All he wanted was to keep his family safe (and he failed spectacularly at that.) He saw the struggle Anders had with Justice/Vengeance, so when Anders spoke of a way to separate himself from the deamon, Hawke immediately believed him. And ended up helping his bestie blow up a church. So Hawke ends up killing Anders, because in his mind Anders has fallen to the demon inside him, and death would be mercy for one of his best friends, and of course Hawke sided with the mages, he always would, but he keeps Anders's memory.
