Something that struck me this morning is that, no matter what choice you make during Emmrich’s quest the outcome is the same.

In two hundred years there will be a Professor Volkarin in the Grand Necropolis teaching a new generation of Watchers on how to tend the dead and protect the living.

And it will be either a lich, carrying on his good work out of memory for the skeleson who saved his life.

Or an articulate skeleton carrying out his father’s legacy.

And I think that’s pretty beautiful.
