My 40th birthday is in a week (well, 8 days, but who's counting) and it would do this old internet lady proud if you consider reading my webcomic: dandyrobotcomic.com

The Dandy Robot is currently in chapter 8 with about 370+ pages loaded, so it's got stuff for you to chew on.

I also have an ongoing fancomic I'm making on the side based on the Tuesday Trilogy game series (Manual Samuel, Helheim Hassle, and The Holy Gosh Darn, mostly the last one) titled, "You Don't Need a Lonely Night." If you're interested in those games or maybe just enjoy stories about Gods, angels, and the Grim Reaper getting into shenanigans.

I think there's an incredible correlation between insulating cis boys from the consequences of their actions and the prevalence of violent crime.

I think we teach cis boys from a young age that violence will be tolerated from them as long as they perform masculinity to society's standards.

That second part is the salient factor here. Because we also teach them that violence will not be tolerated from them if they defy society's standards of masculinity, even if it's self defense. If they're picked on for defying those standards, it's the violence against them that's validated.

I think cis boys who are performing masculinity to society's standards get in no real trouble for snapping their classmates' bra straps or pulling their hair or whatever else gets written off as "he likes you" & it sets them up for a life of violence.

ctrl+f, obviously: search/find, will search a page/document for a word or phrase

ctrl+c / ctrl+v: copy/paste, highlight text and hit ctrl+c and it'll show up again when you hit ctrl+v

ctrl+x: cut, it does the same thing as ctrl+c but it deletes the text, again it'll show up when you hit ctrl+v

ctrl+z / ctrl+shift+z: undo/redo. ctrl+z will undo whatever you just typed, ctrl+shift+z will put it back.

ctrl+a: highlights all the text on a page. this one is a real unsung hero.

ctrl+p: print document.

ctrl+s, ctrl+shift+s: save, save as (for when you're working on a document or project that needs to be saved. note that i don't think ctrl+shift+s works on microsoft word anymore for some godforsaken reason)

also, if you're working with text and you press control while pressing the arrow keys, your cursor will jump from word to word instead of letter to letter. saves a lot of time if you're proofreading/formatting.

be sure to check individual programs and system settings to see what other shortcuts might be available to you. some people have mentioned ctrl+t opening a new tab in a browser, for example.
