I feel short on time this week but after Tumblr attempted to do whatever the hell that was --- or, more likely, attempted to begin a pivot toward becoming something very different from what it is now --- I feel like I need to start *USING* all sorts of accounts that I made on other platforms long ago but haven't really made much use of yet.
I also feel like I need to contribute more of my time to creating things that go onto AO3 and Dreamwidth.
Over the past 10 years I made increasingly more use of tumblr because the phone app was convenient, despite bugs.
And, while I enjoy using tumblr as a virtual watercooler with my mutuals *and* I love seeing and collecting all of the visual inspiration on tumblr (original art, fan art, photography, virtual photography, etc.), I have *also* regretted how I haven't spent enough time on other platforms that (1) support higher quality interactions and (2) are centered around me and my mutuals *creating things* rather than just reblogging things.
Thus: I am still here but this shouldn't be my home base AND scrolling tumblr should *not* get in the way of making actual things: stories, art, photosets, gifsets, etc.
As of now, I don't think I will go full blackout on Thursday thru Saturday, but I will make a point of using more time this week to:
Populate my pillowfort
Figure out bluesky
Posting to dreamwidth
Fleshing out the beginnings of my dormant neocities website
Poking around at other parts of the internet where fandom hangs out, and where artists, photographers, writers, and indie game makers hang out too.
It costs me little time to keep tumblr open in the background but this week is going to be able habit changes and also returning to CREATION.
