When you said in your Katherine Hepburn post that you wonder how many transmasculine people kept their identities close to their chest to be the wife or mother that they were supposed to be, I always think of my neighbor.
I live in an extremely Mormon community in rural Northern Utah. I came out as a trans man as a teenager, about 10 years ago. My neighbor— someone who I had always known as a traditional Mormon woman in her early 40s, a devout housewife, a mother of several children, a valued community member from a very important family in our area (her brother is literally the mayor of our town), and at most SLIGHTLY more reclusive and quiet than most of the bigshots in our community— quietly told me on their front porch one evening that they have always seen themself as a man.
They wistfully told me about their college years, where they were involved in the lesbian community, before in their early 20s realizing that it was “more” than that. About how they only moved back home and got married after their college degree because the thought of being a disappointment to their family, and being disowned, felt impossible to cope with. So they got married to a man that they admit they don’t feel any ounce of attraction towards, and had several kids, and they’re not quite the pride to their parents as their siblings (due to being slightly more reclusive, not really having friends to speak of that aren’t just church ladies that they work with, and, admittedly, always seeming a bit depressed to me). They said that they were proud of me for doing what I needed to do, though, and they were happy that my family at least wasn’t disowning me.
Nobody else in our community knows. Not their family, not their husband, not their kids, not the people they do church outreach with.
And whenever I read stories of forgotten trans men, I always think of them. They’re still alive! They’re still here! And nobody but me will probably ever know! And if I hadn’t come out in this tiny little community, I’d never know either!
Idk. Sorry for the vent/rant. Thank you for listening. It crushes me to be the only one who knows them as a man, sometimes.

He was reading the books of Ibn Al Haytham, an Arab Muslim from Iraq, who pioneered the scientific method, discovered gravity and wrote about the laws governing the movement of bodies (now known as Newtons three laws of motion) some 600 years before Newton existed. Without him, modern science as we know it wouldn’t exist. Read on him. His achievements are far greater than what I’ve just mentioned here.

daily reminder from a trans girl that tma/tme is not useful at all and never has been, tme is now just a way to refer to trans men and mascs who attempt to talk about their oppression to shut them up and call them whiny, self proclaimed tmas AND tmes suck, trans men and mascs issues are real, transmisogyny does not ONLY affect trans women and fems despite them being the main target of it, that isn't how oppression works, its stupid, this is all stupid, you can literally just say "I experience/am affected by transmisogyny" without using tma/tme, and that the whole thing is not only intersexist but also exorsexist and transandrophobic and sometimes even transmisogynistic too which is ironic

Really tired of ignorant ass people talking about how “only transfems are seen as predatory and transmascs are seen as little girls who just need help” bc even ignoring everything else wrong with that idea, I literally can’t even smile, wave, and say “hi” back to little kids that say hi to me in public without their parents acting visibly upset by it. Because they see me, a visibly trans(masc), very gender ambiguous looking person, and assume ill intent automatically.
I don’t think that ever happened to me pre transition, and I’m not saying it happens *every* time, but since I started transitioning it’s happened enough times that at this point, if a kid says hi to me in the grocery store I usually just pretend I didn’t hear them, and as someone who believes in treating kids like the people they are, it breaks my heart that I feel the need to do that
Transmascs are just seen as confused little girls who need saving, as if a foundational terf text (irreversible damage) isn't about how teenage girls knowing about the existence of trans mascs will kill them. (So we better make sure they never learn, by getting rid of all trans men)
PSA: Yes, abdominal cramps and constipation can occur on a monthly cycle similar to a menstrual cycle in trans women and transfems who lack the anatomy to fully menstruate. But also, abdominal cramps can be a sign of low estrogen and a possible sign that you're being under-dosed.
Please check your levels to see if they're good if you do experience these cramps. It could save you years of being under-dosed and stall progress.
