So I am dramatic. I cannot deny this but I did actually almost die this week.

I’m moving my family to another place and I was taking the fridge down the stairs (don’t ask why there was a fridge there - I don’t have the energy it takes to explain my hoarder sister and her bf). Well.

To not re-traumatize myself I won’t give a play-by-play but ya. Almost got squished like a pancake on our stairs. As one can imagine, I’m not alright. But had to just keep moving anyway.

Losing my career wasn’t just money. It was access to freedom and breaking away from abuse. So while it seems like a small deal, I did genuinely lose everything. To work so hard to break away from the nightmare, to make it, just to be forced back into it.

Man.

If the fridge death wasn’t going to be painful, there was a good amount of time I considered just letting go. (But all I could think was ”this weight i feel against my back is going to slam my face down into the steps and contort my body down each one and it is decidedly not a fun way to go”)

God, I must wonder, does my anguish amuse thee?
