idk how to word this in a way that makes sense but like as a nonbinary person who took t for several years and still feels a connection to womanhood, i have seen so much awful rhetoric from radfems both cis and trans around the "damage" that testosterone does to a woman's body and i just think it's not true. testosterone did not damage my body. testosterone didn't damage your body if you're a trans girl or if you de/retransition after ftm hrt, even if you want to reverse its effects. it doesn't damage your body if you were afab and you take it for the rest of your life (regardless of your gender! trans men are included here but there are also women who take t on purpose!!) and it doesn't make you less of a woman if you were amab and you never go on estrogen or t blockers. testosterone didn't damage your body if you're an intersex woman who produces more of it naturally. women who have bodies that have been altered by t don't need to spend their lives trying to fix that because it isn't something that needs to be fixed!!!!! testosterone isn't the cause of violence or misogyny. it doesn't make you ugly and it doesn't prevent you from being feminine. it's just a fucking hormone and women who have undergone the effects of t for any reason are not inherently different than women who have only ever had estrogen dominant hormones. again it's ok if you want to undo the effects that t has had on your body!! but we have got to stop seeing women having (or having had in the past) higher than average t as a problem to be fixed and we AT LEAST need to stop looking at it as something that can't ever be undone

When this photo went viral years ago, most people assumed this poor flamingo must have been killed by the lake.
