For a more illustrative example, say you go to the movies with a friend and you buy them popcorn, do you expect them at some point to send you money back via cash or through an app of some kind? Will you be upset if they don’t?

My nephew is home. He seemed to have a fun time. we played pretend, watched cartoons together and he was pretty happy that I baked cookies almost every night. I scored cool aunt points by revealing my little Eiffel tower statue is actually a dagger. and that I also own more swords. All in all a nice chill visit.

I've made a different post about Steve being adopted within his family but idk here's another scenario: Maybe he was a product of teen pregnancy (unmarried and in the 60s!) and his nosey overly religious, wealthy older relative basically paid a cousin of his birth mom to raise him as their child, when his mother expressed not wanting to be a parent. She paid the mother to carry the child and paid Danny and Rebekah Harrington to take him in, since they already had an established marriage.

Steve is given his own trust fund and isn't told about his adoption until he's old enough to inherit his fund. Lots of puzzle pieces click into place for him (especially the lack of parental affection he had growing up) and he feels sick at the fact that he was basically sold, but desperately wants to meet his birth parents (which he had at some party as a child but doesn't remember). Turns out his birth parents actually stayed together all this time! They agree to meet him but make sure to make it clear they are still not interested in being parents, but would really like to be his friends.
