people have trouble leaving grey area for the things they themselves haven't gone through. we often think our own life experience covers all, even if that experience has knowledge gaps

your wording of this is crazy because @soberqueerinthewild just made a post saying how she felt like her life was on hold while she was trying to get pregnant. it just goes to show, like. both of these things put a pause on everything else; we know taylor wants a family, touring can happen at any time and obviously having kids is not something she wants to put off (or can, indefinitely). so what makes the most sense for her to put on the back burner while she prioritizes the other?

and then men keep moving the goalposts. they're on to the next girl, and they need that next girl be young (too naive and overcome by the moment to understand what she's sacrificing) and contain all the positive traits that she did (but without the annoying lack of edge and that unquenchable hope, because that's what led her to have those ridiculous, fanciful dreams). the machine keeps churning. and they keep grinding away at the flesh and blood and beauty and everything that makes that girl a woman until they can make her into the corporation they can exploit - less woman, more man. less girlish, more hardened. less luminosity in her eyes...more gloom in her soul.
