Summary:

Quan Yizhen is ill. He has been for a long time, yet somehow it got much worse after shixiong came back from the death and they started spending more time together. “You have to tell him,” said Hua Cheng. But tell him what? What’s he supposed to say to shixiong? What do those flowers want from him? All he knows is that it hurts. He want it to stop hurting, but he doesn’t want to stay away from shixiong! “Tell him how you feel!” said Xie Lian. But what is it that he’s feeling? What is it that changed? Should he maybe just get rid of it? No, he should find the words he needs! But why is it so hard for him?!

So. Today is a big day for annoying people (me) since it's the anniversary of the day I posted the final chapter of my QuanYin Reincarnation AU, i won’t let time write you an epitaph, and to celebrate such a momentous occasion (?) I decided I wanted to share some bits about my writing process and also something I promised I would, a looong time ago: the explanation of why each song in the fic’s music playlist is so important to me and how it helped me write the story.

Can’t believe it’s already been a year since I finished posting it! On a related note, @thelinbean started posting a podfic version of it too :D 6 chapters are already up, done beautifully and I cannot recommend it enough to you all!! They even made a version that uses parts of the songs from the playlist as the interludes between scenes, and it works so well :’D Thank you so much baby ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

This fic means a lot to me, and whenever I think about it, it’s still crazy to me that I wrote it :’) My whole soul is there in display, and it’s been touching to see that my own thoughts and feelings about grief, memory, and healing, resonated with some of my readers so deeply. It was worth it to write and post, purely because of that. It was also the first fic where I had a beta, and that helped me immensely with my grammar and consistency! I owe a lot to this fic (and to Lina, of course).
