I was thinking of a fic I was writing, just wanted to share the idea

Nope! The man’s brilliant, sure, but he’s very adamant in sticking to his dojo and civilian life. After all the bullshit in his past life, I reckon a peaceful second life the least he can get. Will he help if his nephew comes calling? Sure, but it’s more of a, “Point me at your problems and I’ll ask no questions but you owe me and your mother dinner.” Very typical uncle things, you know?

And if it turns to being recruited (derogatory), then Ilpyo is the type of person to have no qualms in breaking off contact and fucking off to the mountains with the foxes. He’ll be the one to cut the string, but by trying to force him, Tsuna will have been the one to personally hand him the scissors.

Does that make sense?

Someone did kill him, he isn’t immortal or unbeatable, we have Death of the Endless?

The short answer is: no.

The fun answer is: they wouldn't even know it existed.

The actual explanation is:

When he came to Namimori, the first thing he realized was that it was strange.

“Ever thought that, maybe, they’re pretending not to notice? Namimori isn’t your normal town, you know." (Ilpyo to Reborn)

“Namimori is strange [...] Which you’d know if you’d deigned to spend more than a month here in the total of fourteen odd years your wife and child have been living here.” (Ilpyo to Iemitsu)

It's very much purposefully left vague in the actual story, but in this AU, Namimori is very much an "in-between town." It's where all the ghosts and stories come alive.

Iemitsu isn't the first person to enter Namimori and get incredibly weirded out, and he won't be the last. And he certainly won't be the first person to try and tell other people to try and suss out the idyllic little town, except he'll be one of many to realise he can't quite recall what happened there, how strange is that? And then he'll try to explain that, no, something did happen, the town is full of monsters, except the words choke and die in his throat and never make it past his lips as he promptly forgets everything except that Namimori is a beautiful place, wow it sure is an amazing place to settle down with family!
