I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?

And if you do become a housewife, take steps to protect yourself. Make sure you’re legally married, for starters; stay-at-home girlfriends have very little legal recourse to claim their partner’s assets in a breakup. Make sure your name is on the house deed/rental agreement, and have your car in your name, even if your spouse is paying for it. Have your spouse transfer money every month into an account solely in your name, so you can buy yourself things without needing permission, but also so you can save up to leave if needed.

If your spouse fights you on any of this, then don’t quit your job. The tradwife to poverty pipeline is real, and so is financial abuse.

Finished watching Undercover Miss Hong and this is without a doubt one of the best kdramas of the year. They wrapped up everything perfectly. I am so happy with this drama. If you want to watch something that barely has any typical romance but so much love, has well written female characters, awesome female friendships and found family, has a courageous, bold, "never back down never what" FL who will literally do the impossible to set the wrongs right and prove that goodness prevails in the world, a show with lots of thrill and laughter and plenty of lovable characters, then I highly highly highly recommend this drama.

Some of my favourite moments from the last episode:

Bang Jin-mok was the MVP during the trial and I loved his entrance. It was epic. The music, the slow-motion, everybody's shocked but elated faces, him revealing that he has 12 backups ready of the slush fund ledger. *standing ovation*

Keum-bo helping the police in their investigation. Can this drama turn itself into a long series where she solves crimes, kicks ass, sends evil people to jail? Because I will be one very happy lady if that happens. That last scene of Keum-bo going undercover again? Give it to me! Give me another season!

Keum-bo telling the ladies to run and having a one-on-one fight with the scary thug, pushing him to the ground, landing punches on him and managing to hold him off till the police arrives. HONG KEUMBO THE WOMAN YOU ARE.

Director Yun's little brother finally getting justice that was due for so long.

This guy was a bit annoying, yes, but I won't deny that he was funny (the actor did a great job) and damn I am so happy to see the character development he got.

I think I am in the minority when I say that I really liked Shin Jungwoo and his dynamic with Keum-bo. And I loved their warm friendly goodbye. This was perfect.

Nora and Albert making up with their respective parents and starting anew. Both of their parents had their faults but they never meant harm for their kids.

301 ROOMMATES! THE MAIN STARS OF THIS DRAMA! MY HEART!!! I LOVE THESE LADIES (AND LITTLE BOM) SO MUCH!!!!

And she's on another mission again! She is the moment. She is one of the best characters from kdramaland ever. That's an indisputable fact.

I've said it several times before but I'll say it again, I love this show and more people should watch it.

I made art for my headcanon Odysseus because I had one free day (which should have been spent on writing my essays and internship papers but shhhhhhh, we don’t talk about it) Absolutely love the idea of Ichor staining the skin rather than killing whoever touches it. Instead of ending you, it marks you. Everyone can see the markings which glint gold in a certain light.

I think it's insane that even in the most leftist and "progressive" spaces the idea of equating morality with looks is alive and present and no one fucking bats an eye at it. like racists and mysoginysts are always portrayed as fat and hairy and generally unkept, as a contrast to the morally good and attractive leftists of course; people will have no problem being genuinely fucking awful about someone's appearance if they're deemed to be a "bad person". and the worst part is you point all of this out and people act like you're reading too much into things like no dude you gotta start using your brain more

One of the most annoying genres of people on the internet are people who act like they believe science is one single monolithic thing. Like, you'll see an article saying something like "scientists studying the movement of tectonic plates", and then in the comments there'll be several smug people saying "smh why are scientists doing this instead of finding a cure for cancer", like. Why would a geologist be doing that.
