New born baby Dev, 27 years ago today. Funny story behind my name, my parents were expecting me to be a big. Picking the name Devin Rashad if that were the case. So when I turned out to be a girl, they went back to the drawing board to figure out a name for me. Sarah, Samantha, Jessica were thrown out as possibles... my sister finally suggested keeping it Devon but just changing the middle name to Michelle. My aunt objected because 'Devon' was a "boy's name", and not for a little girl. My dad, being the contrary man he is, decided that Devan Michelle had a nice ring to it and there you have it. For the first 3 months or so of my life I wore boy clothes lol 💙. I used to hate my name, but I've grown to love it over time. Very blessed to see another year 🙏🏾. #27 #GOAT 🐐

Me, listening to "Cranes in the Sky" for the 152,262nd time. As if the poetic lyricism by @saintrecords wasn't enough, in obsessing over the song I find that it was produced in part by my dream hubby @raphael_saadiq. And it was written 8 years ago. 8 is my favorite number. I never heard a song that resonated with me so much as this song has. I have cried, danced, cruised, and wrote to this song. This whole album has been a gift to me. I feel more validated, more empowered. Solo, you certainly accomplished your goal with this project. Thank you ❤️. 🎥: @stefanbertin
