whenever people complain about fandom spaces being "cliquey" im always like. do you mean people having friends. that they talk to. like what does that even mean

a fandom "clique" is when some friends have a group chat. a fandom "cult" is when someone has a popular tumblr account #iamlearning

to Me it always comes off like people feeling left out and struggling to make friends in fandom and feeling frustrated about that. and i sympathize deeply bc this has been my experience irl for most of my life. but at the end of the day man you are just not entitled to people's friendship. people are allowed to have a group of friends they interact with and talk to and no one is maliciously excluding you i promise

we make fun of americans and their burgers but a good burger at the right moment really will return your will to live, is the thing
