I’m assuming that the dragonborn regime was similar to Imperial Russia, given the Revolution’s similarities to the Bolshevik Revolution, which meant that education for dragonborn children was similar to how it was in Russia.

Whereas Rhode’s education was more focused on military and draconian jurisprudence, Rhadamanthus would have seen a softer, less aggressive soul in Astyanax. While his curriculum did aim to toughen up his younger son through brutal physical regimens, he also saw that Sty was seen more positively than other dragonborn by the peasants, and would use that to his advantage. Astyanax’s dragonborn education would include mathematics, geography, economics, Dragontongue, literature, physics, physical education, and so on.

Based on what I gather, his education would be super advanced, and he’d be at a middle school level in everything besides Norish and Norcian History at age eight (after the Liberation). This would be supremely abnormal, only exceeded in volume by the amount sons like Lee were taught prior to the Revolution. In the year since he began his education, given that education for dragonborn sons began at age seven, then Lee would have been at a 14-year-old’s level as an eight-year-old, as the unrest ripe in Callipolis would have made his father want to send him to sort of “shadow” a foreign royal to keep him safe.

Essentially, I imagine Sty would be almost like a student tutor or a teacher’s assistant to Duck and Lena. Since Lena herself was learning along with the children, she would take the lowest-level children in small groups. Duck would take majority of the students, and Sty would take only the most advanced (which would be Duck’s brother, Greg, who, as a fifth-grader, I imagine had a fourth-grade level formal education before seeking refuge in Norcia due to the quality of education he received under Atreus).

This theorizing has me wondering how the hell anyone believed Lee was a slum orphan. Like he was leaps and bounds ahead of his peers, would have been if his education was regular speed. An eight-year-old slum orphan being able to do things like functions and polynomials and complex physics and highly complex Dragontongue, but not knowing a word of Callish. Even if he’d only learned the basics, like arithmetic and basic geography and penmanship and Dragontongue grammar, he’d still be in a bit of a pickle. IMO, the best decision would have been to pass him off as the orphaned son of an extremely minor patrician family, which would explain his high education, his clearly aristocratic features, and his knowledge of zero Callish when he arrived at the orphanage.

I also imagine that Delo was ahead after the Revolution. During the year leading up to it, “regular level” would mean 3x the standard level, and “ahead” would mean that Delo was 4x ahead of the standard level for a ten-year-old when he arrived on New Pythos. Ixion was 3x ahead, which would mean he was at the education level of a 20-21-year-old when he arrived on New Pythos.

The reason for this would be that, due to the Revolution, lessons were being upped in speed for everyone. Delo, Laertes, and Ixion would have been at a 20-21-year-old’s level as ten-year-olds because the Triarchy wanted to display their might and supremacy, and their fathers wanted them to focus most of their attention on properly learning to ride a dragon. There would still be regular lessons, but a lot of those blocks would be replaced with physical education and conditioning and drills.

I read a fanfic where Julia and Ixion had an older brother (and an older sister), and I’ve adopted that headcanon. Given this, Ixion’s education before his Choosing would have been mostly military, so he needed to catch up on statecraft after his parents died. He would be in the same classes as Rhode for statecraft and territory management, since both him and Rhode had no baseline knowledge of it.

Meanwhile, Delo, the eldest son of the former Drakarch of the Far Lowlands, already had good knowledge in those topics, but he had to broaden it a bit, see not only the Far Lowlands, but the Near Lowlands and the entirety of eastern Callipolis, as he was now ascending to Triarch and Drakarch instead of just Drakarch.

You can definitely keep doing what you're doing with your own posts and I won't stop you, but reblogging my posts to more or less tell me I'm wrong because it doesn't align with what you think and then infodump with your own theories/headcanons isn't exactly polite fandom etiquette. I don't mind discussing headcanons/theories/lore, but I do mind that so far, it's been fairly one-sided with you using my posts to infodump at me.
