So collar theory. Please read. I'm losing my mind.
I thought for a while that the collar was a way to protect James/Anharion from mind control/being possessed/scryed. I still think that's true.
My new theory though is this: I originally thought Sarcean had made it for him.
But he didn't. Anharion made the collar. "It had only ever had one master" mixed with James' relieved laughing (To the point of tears lmaoooo) mixed with him saying "No. I don't think I will." when ordered to do something OH MY GODS.
Anharion is a Light Binder. Sarcean is a Dark Binder. I think the rubies are infused with their magic OR that they're actually blood magic binding their two powers together hence their ability at the end of Dark Heir to share their magic w each other.
But like. It's literally not confirmed ever that Sarcean was the actual creator of the collar so why would I believe he would be the only master of it?! Especially with that "Only one master" quote like WE KNOW WILL HATES THE THOUGHT OF EVEN THE POSSIBILITY OF JAMES HAVING HIS AUTONOMY TAKEN AWAY and if Will and Sarcean are the SAME. PERSON. then why would Sarcean feel any differently?
Idk if anyone's following me lmao I promise I have an entire lengthy doc I'm working on to explain all my theories in a way that makes sense

Ugh I'm so proud of Anharion, he's so cool. Just picture the Light Binder sitting there like Elphaba binding the light metal (gold) to his soul and making sure no one can ever control him.
