MORE TO EQUIP Y'ALL FOR PRIDE PARADE!!!
“They said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?’. [...] When they kept on questioning him, Jesus said to them, ‘Any one of you who's never sinned, be the first to throw a stone at her’. At this, the crowd began to go away one at a time.” John 8 verses 4-5, 7 and 9
↑ Everyone has committed at least ONE sin, so you can't go around condemning others for their sins either.
Now, if you say that to a homophobe there's a chance they'll argue that they still have a right to stop you because you'll “Spread The Gay” or whatever if they let you go.
For that, here's a couple of arguments:
“Bless those who mistreat you; ask God to bless them, not to curse them.” Romans 12 verse 14
↑ Tell them they shouldn't be telling LGBT+ people that they'll go to Hell, they should be praying that you'll go to Heaven instead!
“Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all people. Don't take revenge - leave room for God’s wrath, because the Lord says: ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay’. Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12 verses 17-19 and 21
↑ Tell them the Bible says God will do justice when the time comes, so meanwhile, just be kind and seek peace among All People. Yes, Karen, that includes gay people.
Also, most of the times the Bible tells you to speak up for justice against evil, it's telling you to stand for the poor, the immigrants the slaves, the orphans and the disabled. Often all together. (Isaiah 1:17, Psalm 82:3, Proverbs 31:9, Jeremiah 22:3, Proverbs 29:7 (<THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE CHECK IT OUT), Zechariah 7:9-10, Deuteronomy 27:19, Proverbs 31:8, etc.)
↑ If you see a Christian protesting against the LGBT+ community, ask them if they go to protests against homelessness, racism, ableism or literally any other form of oppression with the same passion.
