I've made a hotfix for all S-Club lashes in three performance flavours, after discovering that 1.1k of these polygons were from a redundant mesh duplicate. That's 1/3 of the mesh just being bloat you can't see ingame!

Fully compatible with the S-Club eyelash sliders.

All three look almost identical on my graphics settings, but you can safely swap between them if you decide you want a bit of extra crispness.

*In the past, DXT1 was noticeably lossier than DXT5. However, the wizards at NVIDIA have made the difference between the two basically imperceptible with their modern Texture Tools Exporter. If a mesh doesn't need an alpha channel, you can and should be using DXT1 - it's half the file size for free!

While it seemed like we were entering an era of old-internet revival and indie websites in the fight against the dead-internet, a significant road block has emerged. Prices have inflated drastically for server parts, memory, storage, and server-hosting itself. This puts all non-profit online communities in peril.
As a result, the site owner has opened a Patreon so that the community can help cover the costs of keeping us online.
Important clarification:
The NRaas mods are NEVER going to be paywalled.
The project will remain open-source and free for everyone. Donations are optional.
These mods are still in active development!
The site and mods have been maintained by Chain_Reaction since Twallan's retirement, providing countless updates and support. Lots of cool stuff over there if you haven't updated in a hot minute.
There is no pressure to donate if your situation does not allow for it. Thank you for the consideration!
Long post ahead with information on the situation and some incentives for reaching membership goals.
If you've had some trouble accessing the site over the past week or so:
The situation is directly caused by the greed and encroachment of something we’re all uncomfortably familiar with: AI companies and the companies investing in them (of simmer relevance, that includes EA and Krafton (InZoi)).
NRaas is not the first nor will it be the last to be affected. Website servers already suffer from bots trawling and scraping their content – including your content that you write and share just about anywhere. Now they’re being bought off entirely.
Archives and file-hosting are at high risk. Myrient is a recent example of an archive that went offline for this very reason.
It can feel a bit grim, but I want to assure you that the burden isn't yours to bear as an individual. As a community, it's actually quite easy to become hostile - and more important, unprofitable - to these invasive species as it were.
The past 26 years of modding and storytelling was OVERWHELMINGLY built upon free software, non-profit websites, and shared resources. A few unscrupulous paywallers and corporate greed isn't going to rewrite that history. Greed is the minority - but it does try to eat everything in its path.
That's all I ask - if you enjoy the fruits of The Sims community or enjoy being a part of it, make it just a little more inconvenient to swallow us.
Do not tolerate GenAI in our community spaces.
Do not support EA or Krafton. Let obscurity and irrelevancy devour them.
Do participate in the community wherever you think you'd find a little piece of purpose - make a blog for your stories, come chat with us in the Chatterbox forum at NRaas, make your first mod.
Lastly:
In a separate post, I'll be posting some CC incentives that will be released as milestones are reached. This content will not be paywalled - it will be posted for free as thanks to the community.
This is being offered on my own accord and is not the official reward for any particular tier. None of the proceeds are going to me!

As I'm doing a rags-to-riches challenge atm for gen 3 of my Random Legacy, I've been looking into mods that make the off-grid experience in TS3 a bit more realistic
I hope this list will be especially useful as a resource for anyone doing rags-to-riches, runaway teen, midnight sun, zombie apocalypse or any other similar challenge which requires your sim to live off the land - I personally love this gameplay style, and I hope this is useful for others too!
As always, if anyone has any suggestions of mods / CC I should add to this list, let me know and I'll update it - it's definitely not exhaustive by any means :)

Moar Interactions by Buzzler on MTS
I recommend this mod regardless of if you're playing off-the-grid because it adds a bunch of great stuff, but the interactions particularly useful for this gameplay style are 'work overtime' at the small businesses around town, allowing your sim to earn a bit of extra cash without being officially employed, and also the ability to 'cancel the carpool / schoolbus' (because a carpool wouldn't agree to pick your sim up from their camp in the middle of the woods)
Nraas Careers via Nraas Industries
This mod allows your teen / child sims to be enrolled in home-schooling, which makes much more sense if they're living as a runaway - tutorial for how to assign them to homeschooling is here - I also reccomend using storyprogression to disable curfew for your teen sims if you're playing them as a runaway (tutorial here)
Nraas GoHere via Nraas Industries
This might be a bit random - but this mod is an abseloute lifesaver if your sim doesn't have a car, you can force them to walk long distances without automatically getting in a taxi (best used when combined with the taxi charge mod - linked below)
One with Nature by Spherefish on MTS
This mod is basically the GOAT for off-grid gameplay - it adds the ability to sleep on the floor, pee on the floor, have sponge baths in the ocean / swimming pool and also to relax / daydream on the ground
Pay for the gym by ani on MTS
Some people won't like this one as it definitely makes runaway / rags-to-riches challenges a lot more challenging, but in combination with the other mods I think it makes sense to charge for hot showers when your sim could just go for a wild swim instead!
No Fridge Shopping via Nraas Industries / No Free Quick Meals
No more magically buying ingredients from the fridge - your off-grid sim has to grow the produce themselves or go to the supermarket if they want to cook!
Taxi Charge & Subway Charge on MTS
Challenges such as runaway teen require you to buy a flamingo every time your sim takes a taxi - this removes that requirement as your sim gets automatically charged 6-20 simoleons depending on their age - Subway Charge does the same for your Bridgeport sims
No Stretch Children Can Series by Kapaer on MTS
I always recommend this mod for general gameplay anyway, but it's especially useful if you've got kids in your household for offgrid living, they're no longer completely useless!
Attend University online by TwinSimming on Tumblr
Similar to the homeschooling option from nraas careers (linked above), this allows your sim to attend university entirely from the comfort of their computer - they do still have to pay for the degree though!
Off-Grid Inventing Overhaul by SimState on MTS
Allows your inventor sims to create household objects through the inventing table - so you don't have to save up to buy them if your sim is crafty enough!
Ani's Various Mods
I particularly recommend the 'mountain bike' mod which allows your sims to ride a bike around without roads, as well as the 'ration box' mod & 'consignment'
Sleep on Sofa / Bench by Sammonsim on MTS
Scroll down to post #22 in this thread to get the link to this mod - it basically allows your sims to get a full nights sleep on a sofa / bench without having to queue up 50 'nap' interactions
Functional Wells / Off Grid Plumbing & Functional Washboard
This makes your sim have to collect buckets of water from a well if they want to shower / wash the dishes etc. The functional washboard allows them to wash their clothes in a less mechanical way, I reccomend using Danjaley's functional well cc in addition to the plumbing mod as it adds a few more options for your style of lot

Literally five minutes ago, I was looking up the tutorial to make custom careers for The Sims 3 by MissyHissy and could not get access to the downloads and many other needed downloads such as the STBL Creator, Bootstrap Creator, and the BLANK Career file. I feel like having it all in one ZIP file would be practical for a lot of people so I got them all and put them together in a neat ZIP file. HERE IS THE LINK TO MISSYHISSY'S TUTORIAL (Working to make a backup of the tutorial too because you never know)
In the ZIP is included:
- The BLANK_Career.package file
- The STBL Creator by Twallan (STBL.exe)
- The Bootstrap Creator by Twallan (BootstrapCreator.exe and NraasBootStrap.dll)
- The NRaas_Career.package file even if it's still well available, I didn't feel like risking having it disappear, making the rest of these files pretty much useless.

Home Baker Career
Home Baker is a new, 10 level self-employed career for the Baking skill.
Sims must be at least Level 3 in the Baking skill in order to register as a Home Baker at City Hall and will progress through the career by selling their baked goods to the local bakery, the Grocery Store, or the Bistro.
New Recipes
There are 20 new recipes available for download, including 2 birthday cakes and 3 wedding cakes, as listed below:

In order for these cakes to function, you will need to install the Cake Connector mod and Bietjie's Cooking Assets.

I've been sorting my CC recently (...again) and got nostalgic over the rainbow fad from years back! All these hairs are enabled for all categories that sims would use, and NOT enabled for random. They all have custom thumbnails.
ℹ️ Low = under 10k polys; Medium = 10k-20k polys; High = 20k-30k polys; Very High = over 30k polys.
It is recommended to use High polycount hairs sparingly, and Very High ones even moreso. Also, keep in mind that some hairs may be high poly but also reasonable for that kind of hair e.g. curls will almost always be higher poly than straight hairs.
ℹ️ To get the colors to look the same in your game, use the color codes 184-184-184 (RGB) for roots, base and tips, and the code 250-244-230 for the highlights.

Soo I'm planning on releasing the Pottery Mod v 1.0 soonTM (as in I'm just making fixes and small improvements from feedback so it should be ready for the general public v soon!) and before I do, I thought I'd give it a little introduction with some information about its current state, and future plans.
So first of all, it's not going to include all the things I originally planned to do for the first release. This is because it's taking a long time and I'm honestly a bit sick of it. I have some other WIPs and updates I want to work on, so I'd rather release some version of the pottery mod before working on other stuff again instead of delaying it more. Hopefully it won't feel incomplete, but it isn't going to be especially fleshed out.
What it will have:
animated pottery interaction
about 10 converted TS4 ceramics to craft with 10 converted TS4 glazes each (+ a version that's fully CAStable)
glazing and firing interaction with a kiln
basic 5 level pottery skill with one tracked stat
What it won't have but was originally planned (i.e. prioritised for the next update):
all of the sims 4 animations for crafting pottery (the ones with props and low/high skill variations, it does have the main set of animations)
perfect converted animations (has some issues, mainly with the skirt bones)
all the ts4 ceramics (there's a few more for me to convert still)
sims 2 ceramics
skill challenges + rewards
self-employed pottery career
Further things I thought about for future updates:
more complicated/realistic pottery process (clay ingredient, learning to throw on the wheel before being able to make stuff, maybe needing to dry out clay before glazing, possibility of pot collapsing + can be recycled or repaired, different intermediate prop objects for WIP ceramics to better match the final item)
pottery business mechanic (though existing business mods might work already)
pottery related wishes
?? probably more stuff I forgot about but might remember at a future point
there are some small imperfections with the objects that if they bother me/other people enough then I can fix them too

Fathers and partners can react positively or negatively to pregnancy news. Some Sims may be excited to become parents, while others may feel overwhelmed, unsure, or scared. Prior family-planning conversations can affect how Sims react later if pregnancy happen❤️New Interactions:

Click on another Sim and open:
New Parents…
From there, choose the interaction you want.
Use Discuss Starting a Family before pregnancy to set the tone for future reactions.
Use Tell About Pregnancy when a Sim is pregnant to trigger emotional reactions and buffs.
Use Plan Baby Shower while a Sim is pregnant to choose a location, guests, time, and outfit style.
Use Discuss Baby Names while pregnant to generate one boy name and one girl name suggestion.
Use Ask to Be Godmother/Godfather on adult Sims.
Use Ask to Guess the Baby’s Gender before cutting the gender reveal cake.
Place the Gender Reveal Cake and click it to use Cut Gender Reveal Cake. A popup will reveal whether the baby is a boy or girl.
Baby Showers last for 4 hours. Guests will bring gifts in the form of cash.
I made this fruit bowl functional--now it works like a storage chest
There are so many objects in Sims that seem like they should be functional or could be functional but they aren't. What about a little box to keep your seeds in or one for gems? There's probably so many ideas out there that are less obvious, but this fruit bowl just screamed to be functional! I could put anything in here, really, but for a fruit bowl, it seemed like the perfect place to store...fruit. I really do NEED a place to put my excessive collection of jam jars, home movies, and other collectibles that seem to constantly clutter up my Sims' inventories. All you need is the Transmogrifier Mod from Arsil, and you can do this too easy peasy. I may have to make some cupboards functional in the kitchen. Always more items to make functional. I live for realism in my game. It just makes the world feels so much more immersive, and that for me is what makes it fun.
