Thousand Autumns is a danmei more for the intellectual. So step 1 get a brain, you'll need one for this Step 2 see value in the text and dialogues that are more intellectual than casual/funny entertainment. Step 3 maybe start reading real books too rather than fanfics type of story Step 4 this is more important step you need to have certain level of maturity - this one is really hard to obtain for a lot of people this day. Then you'll enjoy Thousand Autumns 😁

It would also help to have some basic world knowledge - Chinese culture, wuxia - authors like Jin Yong, and basic philosophy at least high school level. One can enjoy it without it but truly understand - NO. Or you can just keep reading your bookgirls type of story where they have heavy themes but are very simply and childishly written like ACOTAR or MXTX.

You really dont need to be that aggresive to recommend something, things like insults and bashing other people's interests unprovoked doesnt make you look more intelectual and right, just rude.

And I would prefer to not see a fight start under my drawing.

And my recommendation to those that struggle with this one is:

- Read the whole appendix first (except the character names because there're spoilers, but keep them close because the novel will throw tons of names at you very soon)

- maybe try some Wuxia movies or series to get the vibe and help to visualize the battles.

- be aware that is slowpaced, specially in the romance so read it when you are in the mood for something like that.
