A Meal Made For Memories
Rated T as itâs nothing more than Jun Wu making a meal for Mei NianQing. A small post-canon drabble with a good ending!
âPerhaps I shall make something for you tonight. Are you not the one who always prepares us meals?â
Mei NianQing paused and glanced over his shoulder, his eyes fell on Jun Wu who had just spoken. Yet with the expression Mei NianQing wore, one would think Jun Wu had grown a new face upon his own skin.
âYou,â Mei NianQing replied, the word sounded like he questioned every little bit of what Jun Wu said. A belief that he had made a joke that was to be laughed at. âYou wish to prepare a meal? I know the seasons have changed but I didnât believe you would change as well.â
Jun Wuâs brow furrowed even more, a glare was soon directed sharply at Mei NianQing. His arms crossed in front of him as he made his way past Mei NianQing. The tension from their argument from last night still hung silently in the air. What they had fought about was forgotten once the sun had risen and started a new day.
The sight of Jun Wuâs stubbornness laced with his reticence made it clear there was nothing that would change his mind. Besides, Mei NianQing didnât have a voice or the patience to argue over a foolish topic once again.
The idea of Jun Wu cooking wasnât out of cruelness, out of mockery, even pity. Truthfully, Mei NianQing hadnât recalled a time he ever saw the other man prepare a meal. Being born into royalty at a young age, Jun Wu never had to worry over preparation. Even when the two of them had become close friends, Mei NianQing always offered to cook and Jun Wu accepted.
Perhaps in the heavens he had tried his own hand at cooking. Perhaps he was a fine chef that could open his own stand in the village's market. Perhaps he didnât even know how to wash rice. So much of it could be true yet false at the same time!
The sound of Jun Wuâs preparation could be heard just around the corner. Mei NianQing would admit he had always been far too curious for his own good, yet he knew this one time he should remain where he sat. Besides, he must be preparing a simple dish.
After some time, different smells and far too much noise could be heard from where Jun Wu still remained hidden. Mei NianQing prayed he was truly making food and not lacing his dish with poison.
The idea was inhumane, he knows! Jun Wu was not as cruel as he once was! Yet, the sudden idea to prepare him a meal after an argument didnât ease his worries!
As if he heard his silent doubts, Jun Wu rounded with two bowls. He set his own in his usual spot while he gave Mei NianQing his. The noticeable hints of beef and spice filled the air with its aroma.
It lookedâŚedible. Far too edible for a man who never helped or aided in the kitchen before. Time and time again Mei NianQing had made meals when they were both young and old. Time and time again Jun Wu never asked to even dice the vegetables or wash the pots out after finishing. Perhaps he truly had learned while he was a god.
âHulatang. We had beef and vegetables left over to make a small dish of it.â Jun Wu raised the spoon to his lips. He looked rather pleased by his own creation and took another sip. Soon, he began to eat it at his own pace as if it was prepared by Mei NianQing.
âYour highnessâŚusually this is prepared in the morning to wake oneâs mind.â Mei NianQing swirled his soup around. He swore it was to mix the flavor and not to stall time.
âWhy does that matter,â Jun Wu replied. He opened his mouth to swallow yet another sip. His bowl was already half eaten as Mei NianQing hadnât even had a bite. Jun Wu had begun to notice as he glanced between his face and his full soup.
âItâs nearly sunset.â
âSuch a dish can be eaten at any time, why must it be restricted?â Jun Wu pointed at Mei NianQingâs bowl, his finger straightened as if he caught him in an act. Yet, it was a silent gesture to eat the food he prepared specifically for him.
The sight of Jun Wuâs enjoyment eased small bits of Mei NianQingâs anxieties. He raised the spoon to his mouth and blew on it. He gave a silent thank you and took a sip. The eyes of Jun Wu upon him the entire time.
At first, it was rather delicious. Truthfully, it had a rich flavor. Soon the flavor was far too rich. Soon, it was far too spicy! Far too soon he couldnât handle such heat!â
Before Mei NianQing could hide his reaction, he began to cough and spit out the soup. An awfully rude gesture as he covered his mouth. Spit and bits of the soup flew out of his mouth as he turned away to excuse his behavior. His back to Jun Wu as he hacked the bits of liquid that burned his throat. He knew such a sight was terribly inappropriate. He only had half a sip after all.
Jun Wu watched the scene before him with an expression that was far too calm. The display of Mei NianQing unable to breathe over a single taste of his meal didnât make him upset. He didnât look angry. He didnât even mock or tease him like he might've done at rare and random moments in privacy.
Mei NianQing didnât have time to recover, Jun Wuâs had already had his hands come down to slam onto the wood as he stood. Moments later Jun Wu left the table as his robes drug behind him. The fabric clung to the wooden floors as if they were there to ground him, to attempt to pull him back. Yet, he hid away in their room. The small cottage was all too quiet now except for Mei NianQingâs harsh breath.
After he finally found the time to compose himself, Mei NianQing sighed and stood up as well. His departure was much more silent than Jun Wuâs. Seeing as most of his dish was finished, Mei NianQing took his bowl away while his own sat full on the table. Perhaps he would try it later, perhaps he should pour it outside and let the animals feed on it. Yet, such a taste might kill them.
Mei NianQingâs footsteps were quiet as he made his way to the door where the other man had hid himself behind. The other side was rather quiet for a man of Jun Wuâs side hiding within. After a moment, Mei NianQing knocked and let himself in.
Inside Jun Wu sat leaned up against the wall, his head hidden between his legs only to be brought up when Mei NianQing had entered. Long ago, Jun Wu would have shouted at him for being seen in such a vulnerable state. Words as cruel as a blade would fall from his lips each time Mei NianQing so much as visited for a moment. Only to be chased away. Nowadays such anger has simmered into a silent annoyance.
Jun Wu didnât greet him, yet he didnât chase him away either. Mei NianQing took it as a sign to enter, his footsteps were still quiet as he moved to stand next to him. The appearance of Jun Wu had changed in only a few moments of them being apart.
His hair had come slightly undone as though he pulled at the strands. His lip had the slightest hint of blood as though his canines had dug into the soft skin. Yet, the most noticeable part was his eyes had a red tint to them as though he was crying.
Of course, Mei NianQing didnât dare comment on anything. He had made the mistake far too many times in the past and found it only ruined their connection, or what anyone would call a relationship, time and time again.
For now, he chose to sit next to Jun Wu. Mei NianQingâs hand slowly came up to touch his hand that dug into his knee. His fingertips traced his knuckles gently as though they were a feather. Only after seconds passed and no objection from Jun Wu did Mei NianQing fully grip his hand. Soon, his head had come to rest on Jun Wuâs shoulder. Their bodies pressed against one another in a silent moment of peace. Neither dared to say a word. Neither dared to breathe too loudly. All that could be heard was their heartbeats slowly beginning to match one another's pace.
It was hard to say how much time had passed. The only hint that was given was that the sun had set, the two now basked in the darkness. A small sliver of moonlight dared to peak through and into their bedroom.
Now, Jun Wu was the one that laid against Mei NianQing. He never felt his body move or even recalled when he had. All Jun Wu could feel was his head on his chest. His ear against Mei NianQingâs body as he listened to his heartbeat. The two still had not said a word to one another for quite some time.
All until, Mei NianQingâs body shook beneath Jun Wu.
Such a movement brought forward what was left of Jun Wuâs senses. He looked up to see Mei NianQing was crying. His tears streamed down his face as his hair shaped around him. The view only allowed for Jun Wu to see. Yet, the tears werenât of sadness or frustration, but of laughter.
Jun Wu couldnât help but fully sit up and stare at Mei NianQing with wide eyes. His face worried before it flashed to questioning, soon to confusion, and soon came to a stop at annoyance. Their tender moment wasnât completely ruined as Jun Wu still gripped Mei NianQingâs arms. His mind still craved to feel the touch of him.
âLaughing? What could you have possibly thought of that has brought you to laughter?!â
Mei NianQingâs silent giggles became rather loud as they echoed in the room around him. His small smile soon became a grin that was far too bright to ignore. The sight should have annoyed Jun Wu, yet he found his irritation had begun to simmer.
âAll of this. The reason for this happening simply because the meal you made for me was far too spicy. You act as though I threw the soup in your face and damned your name. That I told you to never create a meal once again. Yet, you ran away before I could even say anything.â
Jun Wuâs flashed from paleness to a blushed tone. His mouth hung open as though he was about to defend himself, yet he realized no words could change the fact that what Mei NianQing had said was true. Far truer than any convincing lie he could create.
â...I simply wished to create a meal for you. A thanks, a gift, yet it seems as if I tarnished something as simple as a meal even.â Jun Wu tried to compose himself as he slowly took his hands back into his lap.
Mei NianQing didnât let them get far as he kissed his forehead in his own way of thanks. His hands cradled Jun Wuâs face as though he was made of porcelain, a treasure that was to be kept hidden away and held with care.
âAnd as I said, you didnât let me say my thanks,â Mei NianQing said in between a kiss. âIt had a great taste I must admit, yet far too much heat was added.â
âYou believe so? In my opinion it was just the right amount of heat.â Jun Wu leaned his head to allow Mei NianQing to have easier access to his face. Mei NianQing couldn't help but kiss his tears away. All while his hand moved through his hair, finding any tangles Jun Wu might have created with his own worries.
âJust the right amount? I enjoy spice but that would have given a simple mortal a fever with that level.â
âPerhaps their tolerance is too weak.â Jun Wu leaned against Mei NianQingâs chest once more. His worries from before were now forgotten as he laid his head down. His hands came up to wrap around Mei NianQingâs. A tug soon forced both of them to mold and shape against one another closer than before.
âThis has nothing to do with tolerance. That was simply more spice than broth.â
âPerhaps Iâll add more next time in hopes of burning your tongue. Maybe then youâll finally be silent for once.â
âYour highness!!â
No no y'all don't understand. When Mei Nianqing said Jun Wu was definitely not gay, it's because he took the Buzzfeed Am I Gay quiz 69 times answering 'as' Jun Wu and every time it said gay as hell, that was just because he was the one taking it. Obviously he and His Highness answer differently. Therefore, Jun Wu isn't gay.
I know this is meant to be serious but I get so happy whenever Xie Lian curses I fear I am no better than Jun Wu. Xie Lian ready to throw hands with bwx 25/8. Tbf he really is such a ragebaiter

Your Hands Upon Me
JunMei Body worship
Rated M simply because of language/wording. Nothing goes as far as body worship, but hints at something more happening is implied at the end.
How they got into such a situation, Mei NianQing wouldnât be able to relay the entire story without turning crimson. One moment they were eating silently within their home. The next he found himself discarding their meal he had begrudgingly decided to make. Now found himself sitting in Jun Wuâs lap, the said manâs robes were parted perfectly to give him a view of what he had been staring at instead of eating.
Mei NianQing can admit his eyes kept glancing over at Jun Wu the entire meal, but it was simply to be sure he was actually eating!! Time and time again Jun Wu had refused to eat after leaving his imprisonment. Was Mei NianQing suddenly cruel in making sure he was eating properly?
YesâŚperhaps his eyes fell on Jun Wuâs open robes every few seconds, but it just happened to be in his point of view! He wasnât perverted, he swears! Simply every time Jun Wu shifted, the robe would fall open a little more. More of his chest would come into Mei NianQing's view and he found himself praying that more would slip open.
âYou act as though I canât feel your eyes on my chest.â Jun Wu moved his arm to lean on his hand. His gaze pointed at Mei NianQing as he caught him in the act. Yet, it was far too easy to catch him. Mei NianQing always rambled on during their meals yet this one time he was far too silent.
Mei NianQingâs own thoughts were quicker than his mouth. Instead of apologizing or defending himself, he buried himself in a deeper hole. One that he had no way of getting out but digging himself deeper and deeper till he wasnât visible.
âAhâŚyes my eyes are wandering are they not?! Perhaps because itâs so warm out now Iâve noticed youâre wearing looser robes. The heat must have gotten to both of us as Iâm not acting right hahaâŚforgive my gaze. Forgive my thoughts of wishing to touch them as well.â
Jun Wu didnât respond at first, letting Mei NianQingâs confession hang in the air as if to mock him. If one looked close enough, Jun Wuâs lips were visibly upturned. A twitching smile as though he was trying to save the bits of what was left of Mei NianQingâs pride by not laughing in his face. Yet, it was all too difficult.
âThe heat? Must I remind you itâs winter?â
Mei NianQing hid his face behind his hands. Far too embarrassed to face anything but his own shame. The only visible bits of his skin being his hands and ears that were slowly turning red. Each second of silence that passed made his skin become more and more flushed.
âAnd you desire to touch them? I must say Iâve never had someone ask me something so bold.â
âI didnât say I desired,â Mei NianQing yelled behind muffled hands. âJustâŚforget it! Forget this entire conversation and my display of dissoluteness!!â
Mei NianQing moved to run away as he always did. Once emotions became too much to handle, he scattered like a mouse caught gorging itself on a meal not made for him. With how much the world had changed, running away was always something that was familiar to him.
Yet, Jun Wu had grabbed his wrist as he walked by. Refusing to let him get too far. His words were all too teasing for the topic at hand.
âDid I deny the idea of it?â
ââŚâ

And thus, that was how Mei NianQing had ended in Jun Wuâs lap. His hands hovered before the chest that was now on display even more. Jun Wuâs shoulders now on display. The robes pulled back just for Mei NianQing to gaze at. To touch when he was ready.
It took far too long, truly it felt like another millennia before Mei NianQing sucked up enough pride to touch Jun Wuâs chest. His fingers trailed up to touch each mound of skin. Finding it to be much warmer than he thought it would be.
âTheyâreâŚsofter than I would have believed them to be.â Mei NianQing gave them a firm squeeze, noting how Jun Wu let out a small gust of air. His eyes were shut so tight it looked as though it hurt.
âAm I to take that as a compliment,â Jun Wu asked, his voice noticeably firmer than normal. His breath was short as if he was holding back something within his body.
âI fear I donât know what to say while doing such a thing.â Mei NianQing idly squeezed once more. His words came out muttered, moments ago he was too shy to gaze at Jun Wuâs chest yet now he had his full attention on the said part of his body.
Jun Wu shifted slightly, not to move away or hide but to get more comfortable. Going as far as to move his torso slightly closer to Mei NianQing. Neither dared to mention such a thing out loud.
âI fear I donât know what to do either. I have never been touched so tenderly on this part of my body.â Jun Wu looked away, his gaze pointed at the ground as he still felt Mei NianQing caress his chest. Both hands playing with the skin as if it was his own personal toy to take his anguish out on.
âIf you feel yourself becoming uncomfortable, just tell me when to stop,â Mei NianQing replied, his hands beginning to lift away slightly. Trailing down his torso despite that part not being allowed in their deal.
Mei NianQing tried to act discreetly as he went as far as to trace his muscles. His fingers trembled each time Jun Wu twitched beneath him. His fingernails sculpted each indent of skin into his mind as if he was destined to create it later. Memorizing it as if heâll never see such a body again.
âDid I say to stop?â
Mei NianQing did stop after such a reply, but he didnât pull away. His hand rested over the stomach of Jun Wu as he looked up at him through his lashes. The sight of Jun Wu staring back at him suddenly made Mei NianQingâs head become far too dizzy. His body felt light as though he was going to collapse forward into Jun Wuâs body.
âYou did not,â Mei NianQing replied, his hands slowly trailed back up to his chest. Falling back over his pecs, fondling his skin in a firmer grip. Mei NianQingâs face became flushed once more as his touches became bolder.
âYou touch me as though youâre afraid Iâll break? Have I become that weak in my old age?â Jun Wu leaned forward, one might have noted his voice had a slight hint of teasing within his words. Yet, his emotionless face made it far too difficult to tell.
âI didnât realize there were rules for fondling oneâs chest,â Mei NianQing mumbled. His eyes looked down as he pinched Jun Wuâs nipple. A sharp twitch and pained intake of air sounding from the ex-godâs lip.
Jun Wu hung his head down. Mei NianQing felt himself begin to fear for his life as Jun Wu was far too silent for his own liking. As Jun Wuâs head tilted up, eyes upon Mei NianQing, a smirk all too mischievous for his own good, and a low voice that shook Mei NianQingâs bones.
âPerhaps after you have your fill of me, I get to touch you just as youâve touched me.â
