But I want to say something else. They asked for suggestions on where to get these made, and I gave them the names of a few mass production companies, but I also gave them the name of my small local guys. I didn't expect them to go there, it's probably more expensive to use a smaller local shop, but I know it would mean more to them. And I was immediately told they'd check in with them, and then that's just what happened.

They went with my little guys.

So if you're wondering about the price, it's because Tumblr staff just... Listened and cared. They listened to the people who said they wanted one of these, and then they not only asked me but listened to the answer when I suggested supporting a business local to me. That's invaluable to me.

Also it's important to me that you know this comes apart so you can use just the dumpster to put things in. My prototypes are full of jellybeans.

honestly i see nothing wrong with that at all lol. i think a lot of people online who are like "you CANNOT have an adult friend until the exact day you turn 18" are forgetting a couple of things -

there's a significant difference in how age/maturity-related power imbalances impact a platonic relationship vs. a sexual/romantic one so an age gap like 16-20 that would be super worrying if you were dating just... isn't inherently so in a friendship provided the older party is being normal about it which, as far as i can tell from your ask, they are

if you go to any kind of place in real life where different age groups frequently interact and work together (retail/hospitality jobs that employ a mix of adults and school/uni age part-timers, certain sports teams, some further education colleges and courses, your local amateur drama society, etc etc) you are going to find so so many real life examples of friends with similar age gaps. nobody really bats an eyelid about it irl because they haven't been subjected to years' worth of internet fights where if you are 17 years and 364 days old you are a sheltered innocent baby and the second you turn 18 you are a fully responsible adult
