this video was about highways in Vancouver and it did the thing of acknowledging that indigenous peoples exist and then tapking about Real History, which prompted my post. But this is particularly crazy because like many places one of the main highways into Vancouver was originally a path created and used by Salish peoples. apparently every major "wagon trail" in the province was showed to people by indigenous guides who they hired to help these white survey teams for the government that later created wagon roads from those and that's where this video starts... a lot of these roads that are attributed to the colonial government had just existed in some form for a long time because obviously they had people need to move between places.
