person typing into google search bar: obfuscate meaning
google ai overview: Understood! From now on, all meaning will be hidden from you, and you'll be forced to wade through the dreary vastness. Whether it's things you've always held dear, or new ideas you've yet to discover, nothing will make sense or appear to have any real value. This could be the beginning of a fascinating journey!
remember in like 2016 when one of the biggest complaints in the culture war was that kids cartoons had art styles that were too round
and to be clear it was mostly a synecdouche for the fact that CN and Disney had a couple of shows made by women, poc, and queer people at the time but also like. imagine. "a lot of cartoons of this decade have a similar art style. and it's a round art style" like imagine being mad at that. people were mad about that.
oh my god this is absolutely NOT what happened do you genuinely think that rounded artstyles is what killed cartoons and not the combination of youtube, streaming, covid, disrespect for the medium by the owners of media companies, and capitalism's autocannibalistic need to suck up resources and liquidate assets? do you really think the big heads and rounded faces are fundamentally different from animeesque art in the mid 00s, or tartakovsky-esque thick lines in the late 90s and 00s, or muddy realism in the mid 90s, 80s teletoon style, hanna barbara in the 60s and 70s...
people were mad that 1. the popular style was shifting away from the animeesque and comicbookesque art that they grew up with in the 90s and 00s, and 2. that we were getting stories about women, people of color, and queer people.

really fond of this bathroom graffiti at my school. peeing?
Itβs from Life Is Strange
so there is a whole video game about peeing?
honestly life is strange is kind of a stupid name i would have named it something badass like TOILET WARRIORS 20XX or something
People donβt even say w00t anymore.
This sux00rzβ¦
i dont think fight club was co-opted by the right because they didnt get the satire, it was co-opted because it fuckign kicks ass. they would have co-opted any movie that is that good and has hot sweaty men in it. right wingers aren't aliens, they know a good movie when they see it, the lesson isn't "don't make satire because the wrong people might think its for them" the lesson would be "don't make art that kicks ass" and i'd rather there be art that kicks ass
the obvious solution is to make art of women kicking ass
that's not what i said
But that way the right won't get to it, and art that kicks ass will continue to exist. It's a win-win. Unless you literally just make art of women kicking ass, and not art about women that kicks ass.
no, that's not the point, i'm trying to say that I don't care about the right co-opting good art because good art is good to more people than just us. the glib line about hot sweaty men isn't an invitation for others to offer a solution, i'm discounting the idea of there being some magic way to get right wingers to stop resonating with good art in the first place, it's impossible and also kind of implies that people with different political beliefs are aliens who can't understand emotions or aesthetics.
i don't want art that shallowly signifies its political allegiance to me by having badass women in it, art that postures with representation as a shield against potentially harboring right leaning ideas, which is literally what is being posited to me right now. representation that does not shoulder responsibility for depicting alternate perspectives, but just washes your hands of any responsibility whatsoever because you've already signaled to the demographic you want to take money from as a crass imitation of praxis.
i don't think you know but the pink haired girl is from a vn that contains ag*pl*y and p*e you shouldn't post it /gen
I talked to xio about that and didn't see any reason to doubt her, so you may be thinking of someone else?
i don't think you know but the blue haired boy is from a vn that contains inc*st and b*stial*ty you shouldn't post it /gen
my good friend seragaki aoba would never do that
