Melancholia

His brown eyes looked deeply into mine and for the first time in a long time, I felt the butterflies come to life. Something about the way he looked at me ignited a fire in me that had yet to be extinguished. I didn't expect this to happen. It was nothing but a meaningless stare between two friends. But I got lost in his dark brown orbs. They reminded me of coffee right before you add milk and sugar to it, the depth and intensity only captivating me more and more the longer I stared into his eyes. And though this probably only lasted for a few seconds, god knows that it felt like an eternity, and that I could stay in that moment forever. Just the two of us stared meaninglessly into each other's eyes, hoping that the emotions that I felt at that exact moment would be reciprocated. So here I am months later, remembering these moments that we shared. The moment that I realized that brown eyes were my favorite. Brown eyes, not only because they were yours, but because they were everywhere I went. Maybe not the same intensity and beauty that I saw in yours that day, but they're there. Reminding me that even though you're not mine and probably will never be mine, you're still there.

Sad that we’re not in each others lives anymore..
