And like... No. It really won't.

I'm sorry but having a queer main character in 2025 isn't revolutionary. There have been so so many big shows with more queer characters in them and with better executed storylines. This isn't changing shit. Y'all don't understand. It's not revolutionary unless it's widely controversial.

What could have been revolutionary is if Byler won the love triangle against a popular heteronormative couple in said big TV show. Because that would be actually controversial.

This isn't controversial.

Homophobes can just ignore it. Or they'll say woke is being shoved in our faces bla bla. But at the end of the day they can watch the show without their worldviews being challenged because all they see is a sappy gay character who doesn't get a happy ending anyway but is just there for woke brownie points.

This is literally nothing new. We've had main gay characters before. We've had main gay characters in sci fi and fantasy. We've had coming out scenes. We've had self acceptance. We've seen this all before. And a lesbian side couple? Yeah that ain't fucking new either.

Sorry. But this isn't revolutionary.
