I actually really liked that episode!!!

I think it's mostly because Erica and Scotty are very fun characters and have good chemistry. The emotional resolution also landed well because it revealed some things we didn't know yet about their characters (which fixes a complaint I had about last episode). I also liked the focus on workplace rivals to friends, because that feels very star trek and is the kind of platonic relationship dynamic that has been missing in this show so far imo. It makes the world feel much more lived in. Plus no forced romance plot! Yay!

Also my manifestation worked!!! We got Erica in a tank top for a whole episode 🤩 peakkkkk. And this episode made me kinda ship Erica and Uhura ngl.

Pike continues to be incompetent and I continue to dislike Mount's acting but whatever.

The bit with Spock and Kirk was actually enjoyable too and made my plant nerd self happy :) But why is Kirk always there 😭 go home to your son!!!
