my brain just gave me the most diabolical idea. i am the one (reprise) but its kaz (dan’s part) and wylan (gabe’s part) both working through their respective grief (kaz with jordie, wylan with believing his mother was dead for years and his father being jan van fuckface). wylan suggests they compose a song together (bc he can tell kaz is also struggling but being kaz he won’t say a single thing) and then the result is i am the one (reprise) oh im sad.
