No fuck you my cats deserve to be outside stfu

leaving your cats outdoors unsupervised is harmful to the environment and harmful to the cats.

So keeping cats from their basic animal need to explore and hunt is wrong?

cats can explore indoors with hideaways like fun boxes and tubes and such, and can “hunt” with various toys. your cat can have plenty of safe indoor fun that won’t hurt the environment or the cat. the outdoors is filled with disease, cars could hit your cat if you leave the cat outside unattended, cats can and do wander off and sometimes they never come back because they get injured or worse. it’s okay to take your cat outside with supervision. cats can even be trained to go on a leash! it takes a while for them to get used to the leash, but dogs aren’t immediately used to leashes either, it’s a trained behavior. if you want your cat to play outside, you have to be supervising to make sure the cat stays safe. not only that, but unsupervised outdoor cats kill off local wildlife to the point where they kill TOO MUCH. and some of what they kill carries diseases that then get transmitted to the cat. or perhaps while your cat is outdoors without supervision, it could get bitten by a wild animal such as a raccoon or something and catch rabies. there are many reasons why it’s bad to leave your cat outdoors with no supervision.

how is educating (or at least trying to) a waste of time?

I am aware of this and ik that its not viewed to be good. But I think its their animal right to go outside and to hunt. If they die at least they were freer than a cat who has either only seen the outside world on a short walk on a leash or out of a window.

it’s not a matter of freedom, it’s about keeping them alive, safe, and happy. a sick, injured, dying cat is NOT a happy cat. think of it this way. would you rather get hit by a car by carelessly walking in the streets without looking both ways because you didn’t know any better, or would you rather stay home and safe and get your walking done around the house, or perhaps on a treadmill? would you rather eat a wild animal that could be diseased/poisoned, or would you rather eat a delicious meal at home that you know is both nutritious AND safe to eat? would you rather roll around in dirt and get fleas and ticks that make you itchy and could give you a disease, or would you rather stay at home and get cleaned regularly?

We give them flea treatment, they always eat the food we put in our house before going back out, we dont leave them out all day never letting them go back in we let them come and go as they please, sometimes they stay in the house and sleep all day so shut up, you dont know where I live, what I do so be quiet

I will not be quiet or shut up when it comes to the lives of animals. if you want me to shut up so badly, then just block me. it’s easy and it’s free. but you can’t say I didn’t warn you, or at least try to, about the dangers of outdoor cats, and the problems they cause, and the bad things that can happen to them if they’re left outside unattended. it seems you aren’t the type to listen to reason, or to science, or even to the professionals who have written numerous articles about it. cats don’t know what an endangered species is. so they don’t know what they’re doing when they cause an extinction. but you can prevent that by keeping your cats indoors. if you want them to go outside, you need to supervise them to make sure they stay safe. end of story.

I’ve tried to talk to these people before. They never listen, because they don’t want to face the fact that they may be an irresponsible pet owner who is putting their pet in danger. Especially if one of their cats has been injured or killed outside before. They don’t want to carry the guilt of part of the blame possibly lying on them. So they just refuse to see the truth. Cats are not native to anywhere other than the Middle East and North Africa and should not be outside anywhere else. They devastate the environment and the environment devastates them. Especially in cities where they are not evolved to evade all of the dangers that exist there.
