Beautiful Crime

The care team came in every morning, cleaned him, dressed him, put him in his wheelchair, made sure he had eaten, and did the reverse in the evening.

He did not have a cleaning team. (He's so house proud! He'll take care of it!) He did not have someone to take care of his paperwork. (He enjoys getting down to the nitty gritty of the admin!) He did not have someone to take him to see an occupational therapist. (He is so much better since he got out of rehab!)

He could not operate a phone, keyboard, or pen. He could not open the door or answer the phone in a time frame most people would not give up in. The care team bringing this up with their superiors got told they could not decide to "just" provide and bill for extra services.

Our satellite gal was not supposed to be doing what she was doing, technically. But she rang the door, she waited, and she waited, and... Yeah.

Six months on mail on the table. All bills unpaid. House had not been cleaned since before Christmas. The personal care team had snuck in some laundry, but that was the extent they could stick their necks out for without risking their job. His condition had deteriorated. He was alive, he was still mentally present, but he was basically crying at the sight of a human being that didn't have a house key.

Satellite gal called us to inform us of the situation and ask if we could help--if anyone could help. We couldn't, the county judge had to appoint an attorney to arrange all the things. Everyone had assumed him "not coming to the door" meant he didn't want to be disturbed. For a week, our satellite gal came over daily to try and help, until official help arrived.

His finances are ruined. His health might still recover, but has massively relapsed. His mental health, which was previously well on track to recovery after the accident, is not great. The guy nearly died of neglect. But he's got all the care he needs now. He's seeing visitors again. He might come back from this. He should never have had to.

I hade this little dude when I went on a Cappadocia tour last year & it fits just right in my pockets! Sometimes I keep it in my hand when I feel nervous. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

There's also my mother's crystal; I don't remember where did she get it but she was keeping it in her own shelves, which hadn't seen much of sun light 'cause her room is one of the darkest ones :d

you deserve to have your boundaries listened to and respected

you deserve to live your life free from being interrogated about your identity and experiences

you deserve the social supports that would enable you to thrive without a huge network of friends

you deserve people who truly understand and respect the nuances of how friendships with you might differ from friendships with alloplatonics, if you are friending

you deserve people who don't coerce or push you to form friendships with them or with anyone

you deserve to have the labels you use taken seriously and rightfully treated as real identities

you deserve to participate in queer and aspec spaces without fear of judgement, uncomfortable questions, being spoken over, or being ignored

you deserve to be open and proud about your aplatonicism, and you also deserve to be quiet and private about it. you deserve the agency to make that decision yourself

you deserve to have platonormativity and other aspects of your oppression recognized as serious forms of oppression

you deserve to be far more than just an afterthought in queer and aspec positivity and activism

you deserve better positivity than posts that open with how op doesn't understand you and could never be like you

you should never feel guilty for being disinterested in a relationship someone wants with you

you are not a bad person for being disinterested in a relationship someone wants with you

and if anyone tries to say you are/do/should they are an asshole

that goes for ANY relationship - platonic, alterous, romantic, familial, etc.

I understand you very well, it's hard to socialize in this website, even though it counts as "social media" LOL. But I still would love to chat with you, whether it be about daily life or something else.

when someone tags your post "#unreality" and you screenshot the tags and say "what are you talking about? this is real" because you consider the post easy to discern as not real and find this joke funny you're actually just causing paranoia for people who now feel like they can't trust the unreality tag. not everyone has the same reality discernment skills as you. what's "obviously" a fictional story to you may not be obvious to other people.
