This is better than friends
cluster-c aroapl !
im not aplatonic but i really love that the shortened form of it is apl. you guys are literally 🍎
I've never understood why adults (mainly teachers in this case) always ask "would you like to bring a friend with you?" about things. For example, I had to do an English Speaking Exam where we give a presentation since I missed it the first time and my teacher asked if I'd be willing to do it on X date. I said sure. He asked if I wanted to bring a friend with me. I said no. Because. Why would a person be there? Why would you need anyone there? What.
And technically before that but since I did exceptionally badly on a test (and had a whole episode thing cried through all of it because of a lot and had to miss the next period) my chemistry teacher asked if I wanted to come in after school and she could explain it to me because it's a lot easier to understand things when someone teaches you rather than reading (I'd missed a lot of lessons) and also, EXTREMELY kind of her to do I loved her so much she was an excellent teacher. But she said Friend D could come too if she wanted or something like that. And. Why would Someone be there??? What is the point of that?
Also after the test since I was still crying and red-eyed she let me go to Pastoral and Friend D came with and. I don't get why. Why would someone need to be there??? I've done the same for people before out of obligation because I think that's what I'm supposed to do but having another person there just makes me socially anxious too.
Why would I need to bring a friend to anywhere? Am I weird? Am I missing something? Is the offer fake? Is this a fake rule thing again? Is it a social obligation? Am I just too aplatonic for this? Why would I want to bring a friend anywhere?

There’s a special kind of bitterness I feel when I meet someone who I think is like me, only for them to be the exact opposite.
I met someone who I thought was aromantic only for them to fall in love with me. I met someone who I thought was aplatonic, only for them to see me as a friend, and expected me to do the same. It’s isolating. Why can you opt out of these experiences (aromanticism and aplatonicism), but I can’t? I thought you were like me.
Uh ohhh bett's talking about their apl feelings again!!!
disclaimers:
1. This should go without saying but considering this is the piss on the poor website: my experiences don't mean anything about any other aplatonic person's experiences! Not all friending apl people feel like this, and not all apl people are friending in the first place! Like I said at the start, stop assuming things based on a label someone gives themself. It's for pride and a signifier for community, not for you.
2. Brain plasticity is real! This is just how I felt long enough to conceptualize and draw a comic about it. It could very easily change.
