When everything you've ever hoped for is slipping through your fingers...

Lily Hunter were a Pureblood Ravenclaw student in Hogwarts, she was one of the best students there, seeing as the perfect student but she were also considered as the 'other Lily' as she were friends with Lily Evans at one point but no one knew why they stop talking to each other, she were also teased due her blind eye that she cover her hair and she had a long white hair so she were always called as the 'Ice Queen' of the school since she could have a cold attitude towards others aside her shyness.

She just ignored everyone and focus on her studies, right now she were at the library, having a look at a few books as she enjoy it better then going around school gossip and fool around.

He was glad that she'd heeded his advice; although it might be hard for him to admit it, the last thing that he wanted was to put her in danger, and as he secretly watched her, he was glad that she was at least talking to Lily, rather than Lucius Malfoy or any of the other dangerous Slytherins he'd managed to get himself involved with.

Lily was surprised when she felt a shove, feeling herself being separated from Severus as she lost the grip on his hand, almost falling over herself in the process.

Green eyes narrowed like daggers at the source of this. "Potter!" She shouted. "Leave us alone! Why can't you understand that? I don't want to be around you, especially if you keep acting this way."

The Gryffindor girl glanced over to her best friend, checking him over. She continued to go for his hand again, wanting to put as much distance between them and James Potter as soon as possible. She could sense a fight already starting to brew.

Severus, however, was at his breaking point; he'd tried to control himself for her when it came to him being bullied, but he could have injured Lily.

"Leave..her..alone.." he demanded, strutting closer to the Gryffindor, his hand already grasping his wand.

James snorted, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "Why, what's a greasy git like you going to do?"

It was then that he lost control, and before even he realized it, all of his pebt up aggression came out along with his wand, and he was lunging for James.

"Is that so?" He spoke, in a sort of deep, drawl, "Please, do tell me more," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. As if this boy knew anything about him.

"You seem to have spent a great deal of time researching me, do you put this much energy into yourself and your own studies, or are you too busy creeping about and investigating others to mind..your own...business?"

Very quickly, the grin faded from the Gryffindor boy's face, his facial expression morphing into one of disgust, and confusion, and Severus could feel the boy's eyes boring deeply into his own.

"What are you doing here…with him?" He asked, his tone soft, but laced with anger.

Severus was torn between removing himself from her embrace and remaining where he was, but deep down, he did not want to move, and in the end he remained where he was, his face barely conveying any emotions but the way he stared back into the boy's own eyes, and he remained silent, telling himself not to cause a scene, of course unless James were to push him too far.

For a moment, he wondered the same, but judging from the expression on the boy's face, he didn't seem to have been informed that Severus would be anywhere near the area.

"Because you're hanging out with Snivelus, when there are..better people you could be hanging around with, less greasy and shifty eyed."

Severus's heart pounded with a mixture if pain and rage, and a sickness that this boy's ego could be so large, and he nearly lost control before Lily spoke.

He took a deep breath, holding onto her arm gently but firmly, but as he stood up to leave, but James took it upon himself to shove him.

Suddenly, there came touch, and as he felt her arms around him, he gasped. He willed his tears to stop, but he was shaking violently, and his face was soaked with evidence of his vulnerability.

For several moments, her did not speak, still scared, too afraid that it might be too late. He stared, his eyes fixated on the wall, and he knew in his mind what he needed to do, in order to keep Lily, and not seem like a traitor to anyone else at the same time.

He squeezed her hand in return, as a hot, embarrassed feeling began filling up his insides, still in disbelief over how he had just acted, but before he could react, before he could move or speak, he was struck by fear as the doors opened, and James Potter stepped into the establishment.
