Me lying down: I feel pretty much fine. What am I doing lying around? I should get up and do something. Or at least sit upright, damn.
Me when Iām upright: oh, Jesus. Oh, damn. Oh, RIGHTāthis is why I was lying down.

If you are a fellow migraine sufferer, I have to recommend this gel compression mask. The gel is legit thick and the compression is just right on the eyeballs/orbs/limpid hues, and it helps my sensory issues, too. I don't usually refrigerate it, the bitch just stays cool. It's the best one I've tried.
Bonus: you also look like a falcon wearing a hood
It's also on cramazon if you want and probably other places if you search for 'myhalos migraine mask'. I can't vouch for any of their other products tho, just the sexy hat. Wishing you all a pain-free head babes x
Okay so I may have been struggling under a miscommunication issue
When do YOU call a headache a migraine?
I use headache and migraine interchangeably
When it hurts like a papercut, consistently
When it hurts like a stubbed toe, consistently
When it hurts like touching a hot pan, consistently
When it hurts like a hot pan, and another symptom (vision loss, throwing up)
When I cannot walk/move/think, or pain is/symptoms are disabling
Never had a migraine/Don't know/Other
If there's anything I'd like people to take away from this Migraine Awareness Month its
that a migraine isnt a severe headache
It's a complex neurological disorder
Its a cascade of neurological activity in an over sensitised brain, the main symptom of which is usually a severe headache.
It is disabling, especially when it's chronic (15 days a month, at least 8 of those with migrainous symptoms, for over 3 months)

So, continuing the trend of wacky health things Firās got going onā¦
For the first 2 days after my surgery I was grappling a terrible migraine. Bear in mind, I donāt get migraines. Ever. Those of you who have these things regularly?? Omg, you have my complete respect and all my love! That was godawful. I couldnāt sit up, couldnāt even think. They were wanting me to stand and move about the room and I couldnāt even open my eyes.
But my doctor was stumped because it was an unusual reaction, especially when Iād never had one before. We finally figured out it was a positional headache, or spinal headache. Basically a small knick when they did my spinal tap (like an epidural), caused my spinal fluid to leak. Every time I sat up the rush of fluid away from my head brought on the migraine. They performed a blood patch to fix it, which sounds way more icky than it actually is. They take a small amount of your own blood (in my case, from my hand) and inject into the epidural space of your spine. The blood creates a clot that seals the tear, and stops the spinal fluid leak.
The outcome was an immediate, 100% improvement. It was like night and day! With that healed, I could finally focus on recovering from the actual surgery.
And thatās when I felt the literal pain in my ass, but thatās another story. š„“š
Pet peeve: when people say āmigraine isnāt just a headacheā then say ābecause when I get a migraine I feel like my brain is being crushed by a truck and also stabbed with an icepickā like. You just described a headache. Thatās a pain in your head. Thatās a headache. A very, very bad headache, but a headache. Thereās no threshold where pain in your head stops being a headache. The reason migraine is more than just a headache is because of the other symptoms that can accompany itā sensory sensitivities, brain fog and fatigue, nausea, aura, prodrome/postdrome symptoms, etc. Headache is just one of many migraine symptoms, and you can still have migraine even if your headaches arenāt particularly severe (there are even some types of migraine that come without headaches at all)
