So.. Hi, I'm Rachamim and I make culturally rooted queer fantasy work, drawing inspiration from my Greek-Sephardi background. I seek to marry the elements of the queer body and love with ornate detail and a lexicon of personal symbolism 💗

I have one thing and one thing only to say on the complex intersection of Passover and the history of chattel slavery in America:
Those rabbis marched with Dr. King for a REASON. If you're willing to sit around a seder table and eat matzo, then you damn well need to understand what that reason was. You need to take the lesson into your bones. You had best put it on your heart and on your soul, and bind it as a sign upon your arm, and as a circlet between your eyes.
"For you were strangers in the land of Egypt" is not a platitude and it is not a metaphor. It is a burning brand of a rule to live by. It is a commandment upon all Israel to say - we suffered this. We were strangers, and we were bound and enslaved for it. We must never allow another to suffer the same, if we have any power at all in us to help them, as we would have wanted to be helped.
The wounds of American slavery have not yet stopped bleeding. It is a responsibility upon us, upon all of us and each of us individually, to do what we can to stanch the flow.

Omg rocking new version of a Sephardic ladino language folk song
Welcome to the month of Nisan where the high energy of the Aries Ram comes charging in to wake us up from our winter hibernation. 🐏
Jewish mysticism teaches that this zodiac sign brings a fierce intensity that encourages us to lead with our heads and break down the walls of our own making. The Ram is a creature that refuses to be fenced in and reminds us that we possess the strength to escape any situation that feels too tight or constricting. We are entering a season that is historically dedicated to the power of speech and the courage it takes to tell our own stories with total honesty.
This is the ideal moment to channel that stubborn and bold Aries spirit so you can finally advocate for yourself or push forward on a dream that scares you a little bit. By taking control of this fiery energy we can transform our natural impulses into leadership and confident action instead of letting our egos run the show.
Let this month be your invitation to stop following the herd and start carving out your own path toward personal freedom.
Chodesh Tov!

calling something “spiritually israeli” in a derogatory way is so cartoonishly antisemitic you would think it might give a self-described leftist pause. unfortunately i am still making this post
Gen Z “antizionists” have mainstreamed antisemitic jokes and talking points that 13 years ago would have been confined to the deepest darkest corners of 4chan and made them socially acceptable to say out in the open. Shit’s bleak, folks.
