i think making blanket statements and excluding people from spaces meant to be safe for people who feel alone and broken is a really bad idea for everybody. theres a sense of us vs them with a lot of this stuff right now thats so beyond hurtful for everyone involved. imagine being an adult, finally finding out about ace as a term and things making sense, and then finding out people are gatekeeping you from queer spaces because, bummer, youre not queer enough, and some ace jackass you never met ruined it for everybody. imagine being a questioning youth and going through that. my grapple with my gender and sexuality as a kid was gnarly enough when i thought there was just gay/straight and boy/girl to think about- can you imagine how exhausting trying to label these scary new feelings when theres so many labels and they each have random connotations like this attached to them!?

All these movies came from the Florida studio, which for a long time was a backup animation studio that did work the main Burbank studio didn’t have time for. 

Then in 1996 Disney decided to focus all their energy on transitioning to 3D animation. They acquired Pixar and started working on A Bug’s Life. 

They basically told the Florida studio (their only remaining full-time 2D animation studio) – “Eeeeeeh, do what you want.”

And the Florida studio, for the first time, got to produce feature films:

Mulan (1998)[27]

Tarzan (1999)[28]

John Henry (2000)[29]

The Emperor’s New Groove (2000)[30]

Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)[31]

Lilo & Stitch (2002)

Brother Bear (2003)

Then in 2004 Disney decided to stop producing 2-D feature films altogether. They closed down the Florida studio and laid off all the Florida Studio animators.

…But how many times do we hear her compare herself to her sister or to Lila as “Okay so maybe I’m not smart, pretty, funny, popular or nice like Lila/Olga?” Despite the fact that she IS just as smart if not smarter than the both of them? How many times do we hear her compare herself to her best friend Pheobe - who if we are honest, will admit is more STUDIOUS than intelligent. And how many times do we hear her say “Maybe if I was prettier/nicer/smarter Arnold would like-like me back?”
