Start by smoke cleansing the bowl

I think I've mentioned before that I love cleaning. I mean, don't get me wrong- if my home just stayed clean all the time without intervention, that would be the dream. But, for me, it's easy to really let everything else fall away while I clean, and that makes it that much more natural for me to weave a little extra magic into the mundane tasks.

One of my favorite ways to do this is by blessing whatever I'm using to clean with. It's a simple process. I'll pause and hold whatever I'm using in my hand. Duster, rag, mop, whatever. Then I set my intention. I remind myself that this isn't just about cleaning away physical dirt and dust. I ask that it helps me to cleanse away stagnant energy, lingering tensions and anxieties, and anything else that doesn't belong.

Witch tip: If you use fresh ginger and hate throwing away the peels (assuming you don't eat them that is), let them dry and ground them up for use in spellwork🫚

rosewater distillate or hydrosol (i use food grade rosewater made by cortas)

something to apply the rosewater with (washcloth, paper towel, tissue, sponge, or you can just rub it on with your hands)

carve the symbol of venus [♀] into your tealight and light it - set aside

wash your face, take your makeup off, etc., and use the rosewater as a toner - i use a small disposable sponge for this

while you apply the rosewater to your skin, recite positive affirmations - "i am kind to myself, i am kind to my body" etc.

after you apply the rosewater, complete your self-care routine as the tealight melts

when finished, say your thanks and snuff out the candle

you can do this as frequently as you'd like :)

Use this spread when you need to vet someone to learn all you can about them. This spread was originally written for vetting someone before you (or someone you know) decide whether or not to go out with someone, pursue them, or accept their advances, but it can be used to vet anyone. New acquaintance you're unsure of? It works for that. Met someone new and you get the feeling they're not being genuine about themselves? It works for that. Things you will need:

☀️A pocket-sized jar or other such container

☀️Small paper scroll

☀️A writing utensil with a colour you associate with motivation, inspiration, and energy (I used a yellow watercolour pencil)

☀️Ginger* - vitality, high energy

☀️Sugar - joy, sweetness

☀️Coffee* - energy, connection

☀️Marigold* - happiness, solar energy

☀️Orange zest - abundance, joy

☀️Candle (optional) - wax used to secure the ends of your paper scroll so it won't unravel. The colour can even correspond with your intent.

☀️Quartz - intentions, amplification

☀️Sunlight (preferably morning light to build up the energy as the sun rises higher) - solar energy, vitality

*Ingredients should be fully dried to prevent mold growth, not fresh.

After gathering all your materials, cleanse the items as desired.

Take up your writing utensil and write the following on a small piece of paper: "May I be filled with inspiration, motivation, & energy ☀️".

Roll the paper into a scroll or fold small enough to fit into your jar. You can dab the ends of the scroll or sides of the folded paper in melted candle wax to seal it shut.

To the jar add ginger, sugar, coffee, marigold, orange zest and your paper.

Seal as desired and place in a sunny location with quartz to charge.

Carry with you to gain inspiration, motivation and energy throughout the day.
