Turning it over in my head I’ve come to the conclusion the queer community is not ready or progressive enough to address its rampant TGNCphobia. It struggles to separate man from masculinity, male (gender) from the binary and unfortunately within non binary spaces there are pockets of gatekeeping exclusivity on what genders one is allowed to have or use when talking about exorsexism.
Add this all into the giant melting pot of an extremely transphobic and intersexist political landscape — I need to make a change for myself. That change while small that holds no bearing to anyone else is simply the act of using the word Virr and Virrhood alongside the word male and manhood.
I still identify as a man, I still believe manhood and male (gender) can be detached from the binary without having to be “one binary gender and something else” to be validated as a gender not strangled to death in a binary framework. The queer community as a whole isn’t ready for this and until it is I think finding pride, identification and empowerment through man-aligned gendered language unaffiliated with the binary would be a very freeing experience for me.
It’s sort of funny how TGNCphobic some of the trans community is (by funny I mean you look stupid as hell) especially trans people 28+ who consumed a lot of anime.
Like what the fuck do you mean this is weird or clocky?? Jessie and James from Pokemon are some of the most iconic GNC characters to exist. Not only that they’re shipped together and no one seems to give a shit about their gender non conformity, gender or sexuality the way they do other characters.
What about Haruhi from Ouran Host club? What about Blue gender? Ed from Cowboy Bebop?! Ritsu Sohma Fruits basket? Toboe and Blue from wolfs rain???? Kurama from YYH?? what about THE WHOLE FUCKING DOT HACK SERIES????
'Being 'GNC' as a woman is really just a non-action' and in a way that's true, but it's a non-action in the Alice in Wonderland sense of 'all the running to stay in the same place'. You are a woman who just exists as a human being. Pressure is exerted on you to try to make you different than you are and to make you adopt and keep to rituals of femininity. It's not quite a non-action to remain as you are in dignity and comfort, because it's dignity and comfort that is assailed and you are forced to defend.

I really hate that queer discussions have reached this end but it's gotten so transphobic people have looped around to say gnc trans people aren't a specific group of people who experience more scrutiny than both groups combined.
Maybe I'm a bitch for saying this but saying republicans have small penises or that they're bottoms isn't actually actionable politics and all you're doing is being reactionary and reinforcing patriarchy and heteronormativity.

honestly it is personally kind of annoying when I say hetgnc and ya'll reblog with rolereversal. Alot of ya'll don't think gncphobia as its own actual thing that gets people killed, ruins childhoods, traumatizes us, and haunts us for the rest of our lives.
Idk why Some people can't comprehend that majority people aren't simply attracted to gnc people, even in queer spaces. The common view of gender assumes presentation and allinity, and our specific parts of our gender is very different.
