I actually genuinely am obsessed with Ilya using Shane's autism to calm him down. Like imagining him even in normal situations with Shane who's bordering on a panic attack or a meltdown or so just overthinking asking him a question or mentioning something purposefully to get Shane going on hockey or architecture or whatever his current fixation is cause not only does it calm him down, it makes him happy. And Ilya will help by mentioning things out adding little details to the conversation to keep Shane going while physically comforting him like rubbing his back or kissing his cheeks and wiping his tears away while Shane mumbles some stuff about the places choice in flooring
