I'm starting with Making Friends (Via Spite) because it was how I started my Companion Sabi AU works, which gives it a special place in my heart. It was how I really started to develop Sabriel as a character outside of being Rook, and I learned a lot while working on it. (Though I'd still like to rewrite the Inner Demons portion one day)
Desperation. This one came about because I wanted to write something about Sabriel that didn't involve the other VG characters. I wanted to figure out what she would be like when she took on something by herself, and how she could accidentally jump in too deep.
Homesick, which was my piece for the writing workshop way back when. It's one of the only explicitly Rookanis things I've ever written but I'm really proud of how that last heart-to-heart turned out.
But What Comes After?, my first dip into Davrook! I'm still a little on the fence about writing Davrin, but he's very fun to bounce Callie's high energy off of! I want to use this as a springboard to develop their habit of sparring-as-argument.
And last but certainly not least, A Pie for Lace Harding, my little baby fic that really got me started. It wasn't the first one I wrote but it was the first that was really focused on me learning how to write the canon characters. And it's very silly and I do like writing silly things. I'd probably write it differently now, but I don't want to edit it!!

so my original original plan was Emmrhys but then I was like "I wanna romance Bellara" and I thought Rhys would be a good fit for her but then I developed him more and I'm like he would be a good fit for HER but I don't know if she's a good fit for HIM?

Some notes:
Jealousy is foreign concept to both of them. They're both so astonished to have found connection with anyone that they just roll with it LOL
They both fall slow-ish, but in her usual fashion, Sabriel's realization of feelings is like crashing through the floor so hers is MORE unintentional.
Picking love languages is hard because they like all of them? But I think in particular neither fully trusts words of affirmation. It's easier to believe actions than words for them. And then touch is like. Fine? But they're particular about it. They both express love via gifts and are awkward about receiving them, but acts of service are HUGEEEEEE for both, both giving and receiving. (I actually hate love languages as a concept but I'm trying ok ;A; )
Rhys only hogs the bed because he is Big. He's not trying to. He's very sorry. Sabi's preferred position as big spoon is always interesting with these two LOL
Picking most likely to start a fight was interesting, because neither of them would do it on purpose but Sabriel's emotional control falters more easily than Rhys's does. They're less "fighting" and more "mitigating meltdowns" honestly.
Open and closed off was difficult because they're both a mix. Sabriel is closed off but easy to read, Rhys is seemingly open but closed off with his deep emotions. Labels are hard....
Rhys definitely reads conspiracies solely so he can ask Sabriel about them and get her to rant about how silly they are.
